I checked out Despise as well. I'm wondering if Test Center is actually running Publish 53. When I logged in, it said Publish 52. I also didn't see any change in the egg color of the bird's nest. I'm not going to test it out anymore until it's clear the correct publish is running.

Jeremy, if you can't hold your head up you should stay away from the keyboard. Not doing so normally ends with painful results. At least its nice to know I'm not the only one that should stay away from the keyboard at times.

Lets hope so because I only hunt in Felucca anti-virtue dungeons. There is just something to be said about avoiding 100 trash spawn mobs while risking the chance you might run into one other player once every month unless someone is doing a harrower.

except that the dungeons dont have anything to with sins, they have to do with virtues. also, the virtues and dungeons have been around since before UO, why should we go around changing pieces of the ultima lore?

I've run through Covetous, Despise and Destard on Test and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I also learned a few things about those dungeons I either never noticed, or been so long since I've been in those areas I forgot things were there.

PS: Dev's could we please get a runebook with the dungeons. I love walking through Britainia, but on test it's a pain when you just wanna test. See here for more about this idea.

I did notice a new inaccessible area in the southwestern part of the lowest level (behind the acid elemental's swamp), which looks like an orc outpost. But it's possible that it was added when the dungeon was redecorated for KR, and I just never noticed it until now...

"Sin," in this context, equals "Anti-Virtue," but it's 3 less syllables, no hyphen, and sounds cooler.

Also, yes, the dungeons were around since before UO, but I don't recall running around in, say, U4 visiting "Anti-Virtue" dungeons, just dungeons.

Saying the dungeons "have to do with" virtues just sounds weird.....Only thing, say, Despise has to do with, say, Britain is that they are opposites. Despise "has to do" with Despise, an Anti-Virtue.....Or "Sin."

I am not changing a God-damned thing about Ultima lore, but if you want to talk about things that are currently in UO that differ from the lore, there's plenty.

Test Center, and now also Origin, are definitely running Publish 53 - the rest of the Publish is active. The Test Center pop-up scroll doesn't update automatically - they probably forgot to change the message since last publish.
Let's not forget that event-related stuff is not always automatically activated after a Publish - sometimes it needs manual intervention. Maybe the Devs are waiting until Publish 53 is on all servers before placing the new NPCs in the dungeons.

Oh God! yes Please read that idea I think its one of the best to come along in a very long time. Kidding aside, if they made such a library on TC it would help us out alot when we go to TC to check stuff out, as I said in the link above, I get so dang tired of marking runes to locations only to see them gone when TC is wiped with new changes.

Actually "Dungeons of Vice" would be a more accurate phrase - "Vicious Dungeons" would be equally correct, although it just doesn't quite work. The problem is both "vice" and "sin" have a more religious connotation than is really necessary, and we kinda don't want to go there.

If Infinity is the combination of the three overarching principles of Virtue, then the opposite of it, that being Mu (nothingness/absence of everything for those not versed in such words), or possibly The Void. So, in other words, we'd need a word that is to Mu as Virtue (in the UO sense) is to Infinity.

Vice fits well, but a bit too much of a religious connotation, as Jeremy said.. so why not Corruption? I'd say it fits well without religious overtones we can't exactly use because of both the T rating and the fact we already have Demons and such and don't need undue activist attention. Plus, it would help cement the Cloak of Corruption as a definitively evil (or at least unvirtuous) item.

Dungeons of Corrpution sound good to everyone?

There are three Principle Virtues tha(t) should guide people to enlightenment. These are: Truth, Love, and Courage. From all the infinite reasons one may have to found an action, such as greed or charity, envy or pity, the three Principle Virtues stand out.

In fact all other virtues and vices can be show(n) to be built from these principle(s) and their opposite corruption's of Falsehood, Hatred an(d) Cowardice.

Actually it seems that according to LB "vices" are the anti-Virtues while "corruptions" are the anti-Principles, but it's good enough!
