I just placed a new house for vendors. For simplicity and ease of access I simply customized it with floor tiles; no walls or doors, and only the first floor. So a simple flat plot. My problem is when i walk onto my floor my neighbors large log walls don't go transparent! I can't see a thing walking around my home. Even using my own circle of transparency is very difficult, as his house is full of decorations, most which don't disappear. Does anyone know why my neighbors house doesn't 'disappear' to the first floor walls? When I walk into any other house their neighbors behave as I've always seen, their house image is reduced to the first floor, but my neighbor remains 3 stories tall. Thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks for the response. I was afraid that would be the answer. I was hoping to keep the plain flat plot to make the vendors easier to spot and click. Especially where I squeezed in, if I put a roof up, or second story, it will block off seeing all but two of the vendors. And the vendors are rentals, so there's the whole hassle with that. I guess I could just make a really small room with a roof, but then I'll still have to hassle with the vendors.

Anyone else have an idea?

How many floors can you have on that plot? How about building columns two or three stories tall and building a roof on top of that? My thought is the higher roof may allow more vendors to be seen, while still blocking out the neighbors house.

That woulda been my suggestion too =) Two or three stories of columns, on the corners of the plot, with a roof (or floor for that matter) up the top =)

Alternately, do the same thing and just have all your vendors on the top floor =)

Thanks for the responses. In response to the question, my home is a two-story 8x12 customizable.

After wandering around a bit and going into other homes it looks kind of like I will need to place some walls or columns, at least. Rather odd that for whatever reason you can't see your own home unless you build up. It'll be challenging, but I'll try to build something neat. I'm going to attempt to place the structure only where the neighbors house covers my own, leaving the west and north ends unbuilt for two tiles as a vendor strip. I'll have to see how creative I can be with the remaining 6x10 area, should be a challenge. Initially I wanted to just have the flat plot, but since I'll have to build up I'll actually try to put something that won't be an eyesore. If I can make something interesting I'll post it here.

Thanks again for the help.

Okay... I customized the plot with a few walls and a second floor. It fixed the problem, whenever I'm under the second story, the neighbor's house disappears enough to see what I'm doing. I didn't go all the way to three stories, so its still a little problem, but MUCH better. I can do a little smithing and storage, at least, without having to adjust circle of transparency. It was tricky to get what I wanted because of the vendor placement I desired. But I'm satisfied with it. Thanks for the assistance.

Okay, I have gotten a new more visible plot this time. Thought I'd share the new design with you.

Very cute, both of them! I think that custom log owner could have learned quite a bit from you. But I'm really not a fan of strewing all of my belongings across the floor like my rares chests got sick and threw up everywhere. May be just me though. :p

Hook... Line... and sinker...

Looks like someone else has caught the design/deco bug!

Nice job on all 3 houses!
