I have been playing UO on and off for about 6 years. I recently came back to UO this summer just to see what was going on and got back into it because I met a guy that moved in next to me who has just started playing for about 3 months. I had a lot of fun playing with him because he was new and enthusiastic to the game. You don't find true noobs nowadays. Anyway a few days ago he was perma banned for "exploiting." Now I know for certain that this guy does not dupe, never had duped, and doesn't even know how. The most worthwhile thing he had in his house was a crimson he legitimately got from Melissa, no artifacts, no val hammers, nothing that could give OSI the reason to ban him. A few days ago he didn't even know that you couldn't be attacked in tram under no circumstances. So as any of us would do, he called several times and wrote several e-mails. A few days later they sent him this e-mail back.

"I am very sorry to hear of your account being terminated. However, you were found to be in possession of a multitude of highly illegal items in Ultima Online. Due to the severe nature of this ToS violation, your account was terminated. Sufficient evidence was verified to justify this termination."

I know there needs to be something done about the dupers in this game but is banning innocents really worth getting to the dupers? Won't the dupers just open another account and start duping again?

He has since quit UO and I think I am going to quit as well because I am so discouraged and upset by all of this.

Man, this drama just gets better and better.

Draconi's reign on UO is looking more and more like the grandest failure of them all.

Accounts Terminated
Jeremy Dalberg - 04 Aug 2008 13:25:35
Over the weekend, a number of accounts associated with creating and trading duped items have been banned. We take all forms
of cheating extremely seriously, especially cheats that affect the in game economy and devalue the hard work of honest players.
We will never stop investigating and solving these issues, and appreciate very much those of you who contribute to the fight
against cheating.
If your account was affected and you need more information, please fill out the form
here.
