Thanks Kelmo! On top of the hurricane, Delaware and Southern NJ are now under a tornado watch as well! First an earthquake, now a hurricane, and possibly a tornado! What's next?

Meteor shower??

All is well in Annapolis, MD so far. Supposed to get semi-nasty here, but we'll see what happens.

Keep Leaf/Izzy in your prayers. [She used to run the nice vendor shop that was off the East Umbra Bridge.] They didnt evacuate and now wish they had. They are in Maryland, on the Peninsula.

Mook/RP McMurphy - He's in Jersey. Not sure if evacuated or not. Send some his way, too, if you're the praying type.

T&P to all.

My son called me up yesterday, to let me know that they have hunkered down and are ready for whatever may happen in Connecticut, and reminded me that they may not be able to make or receive phone calls till things quiet down. They were more worried about their horses in the stables, and his beehives.

I reminded him it took 5 days long till my mother and I found out if my brother was even alive, yet, in one of those huge San Francisco earthquakes, when he was stuck on a bridge in his car, as that one huge SFO bridge collapsed in the quake that year.

So yeh I am used to it, that it may take more time, than we want just to find out if someone we care about, is ok or not and still among the living, during natural disasters.

Natch being a mom of US Navy folk, I did ask him if the subs have been moved out of Groton, and our ships out of Norfolk.

He told me they all are out to sea away from the coasts, & moved out soon as they knew Irene was going up the east coast.

*am glad daughter's USN flight from San Diego, to Virginia yesterday,
was CANCELLED/postponed.*

I haven't heard from my relatives in Brooklyn, yet. They will probably call AFTER it all ends whatever it may be, having gone thru 9/11 and much more, in NYC, they usually contact us all, afterwards, when they can do so, to let us know they are ok.

Hope every one on the east coast remains safe.

Was it wrong that to the Jersey Shore for the Hurricane?

Spree...... did I translate that correctly.... you went to the shore, instead of evacuating, so you could help a friend board up his place? That was great of you! :thumbup1: Did you then stay at the shore or did you get out?

Is everyone okay? My town is fine. The towns and counties south of me- not so much. Alot of flooding and breeched dams. I think this storm was bassackwards in that it caused more damage inland that at the shore!!

Has anyone heard from Leaf? How about anyone else that was in the path of Irene?
