(Question) mutation core still possible?

I remember doing this little "quest" for fun: Mutation Core - UOGuide, the Ultima Online Encyclopedia but i can't seem to get it to work now.... is this a dead quest now? or am i just having bad luck?

Might be bad luck, I just tested it out and was able to start it (I didn't finish it for lack of time). You need to cast paralyze on a plague beast lord, at which point it should turn into a glacial color, and then use a dagger on the frozen plague beast lord to begin the operation.

Or you can also attack the plague beast lords to make them glacial, though they don't always change before they die.

Has anyone tried this in the enhanced client? For some reason it is not opening the surgery gump fo rme.

It doesn't work in the Enhanced Client. I've tried several times over the years, always to disappointment.
