Just to be on the safe side, I thought I'd better ask first.

Acquiring a new house on any shard will cause your established homes to become condemned.
...
Setting one of your established homes status to a Primary house will cause your other homes to become condemned.

So if I own a house on shard A and I will place a second one on shard B. A will become condemned.
When I then demolish the house on B and then set the house on A back to primary, it won't be condemned anymore? Would that work?

No. House A would still be condemned and will fall unless traded to another account.
