MR question... not clear to me.

I dont use meditation or focus for my warrior. I do use leather armor mostly but find it tough to craft a helm I like thats useful. Ive made a few bone, plate and dragon helms with MR2 on them but none seem to come out with the "mage armor" mod along with it.
My question is ... will this effect my "passive MR"? I know it used too long ago but Im thinking it was stamina or health. I have 10 MR on my suit total but dont really see a big difference. I dont want to be completely dependant on my wep leech.
Any thoughts or direction with this would be a big help as I am sacraficing some INT for DEX. I have a small pool of mana (30 before mods) with a 250 stat cap. Is this to low as I progress to more difficult monsters? Thanks for any help.

Mana regen from equipment is mana regen. It doesn't affect Meditation (or the ability to do so).
Mage Armor only comes into play for the ability to get mana back from Meditation.

There's a formula that was posted in Ask the Devs, that showed how Mana Regen worked from each source, and how they interact. Essentially, Mana regen from items is calculated separate from the bonuses from skills and stats, then the two are added together.

So I have a base of 0.2 mr per second(meaning mana regenerates at 6 points every 5 seconds) that is unimpeded by armor type?
Is plate only bad for stealthing? Will it slow me down like it used too? Sorry, Ive been using leather so long I just dont know these things anymore.
That was a great link thank you. Any other stuff relative to this subject?

Plate's bad for stealthing, and for Meditation (and even that's not true for the original plate, if made exceptional, as it has mage armor automatically). That's it.

There's no difference otherwise between armor, except that leather crafted/enhanced with barbed has one less max resist than plate crafted/enhanced with valorite.

That's the info straight from one of the Devs. So, that's pretty definitive. Note that if your character is human, he is treated as having the equivalent of 20 Focus and 20 Meditation, if he does not actually have the skills. As a result, humans with no focus and no med don't have the stamina or mana regen problems that an identical template that's an elf or gargoyle might have. It's possible for those races to run, and run out of stamina, even when not overloaded - but humans don't have that problem.

Also, the Jack of all Trades human ability (where the 20 focus and 20 med come from) also give humans using weapons the full -10 mana reduction to special moves, at any combination of 70+ real weapon skill (minimum to use special moves) and any other reduction qualifier that adds up to 120 (For an archer, that means the -10 can kick in at 120 Archery with no other qualifiers, and only 90 of it has to be real skill).

Keep in mind that some of the armor pieces automatically have the mage-armor property on them (Platemail Jingasa comes to mind) so if you ever want to add med or focus to the template, this might be a good base to craft your helmet from.

I do not think regular plate armor made exceptional gets the free mage armor property. That bonus only applies to the samuari armor pieces. So if you were hoping for a plate helm with mage armor property, that would require either an imbuer or a runic hammer to create. The metal armor dex hindrance of old no longer applies to any armor at all.
