Mouse Hole Disaster

I lost contact with my first mouse hole when it fell into the floor under a teleporter. A GM retrieved it for me because I was pretty onery after (2) hours trying everything to locate it. He put it in my pack, when I tried to pick it up it vanished. I now have my second mouse hole and it still won't place correctly. Falls in the floor, tells me I don't own the house all the usual garbage. You would think that after (9) years of playing I would be used to this kind of frustration. This game is the Godfather of them all. Still around after all the years of development that in some cases almost did it in (Age of Sorrows sound familiar?) Guys, a little more attention to detail please. Make sure things work. Don't make changes that make the game more complicated. Analyze D&D. That ruleset worked. Characters had a constitution, they were vulnerable, they didn't have neon equipment. Don't lose this game.

Mouse hole worked fine for my. Problem is, to re-deed it, you have to use an axe and target it. The hole is very tiny. So if any other object is blocking view, you probably have to remove those objects first.

It might also work to go into house design mode and change the tile you place the mouse hole on. Usually the items on this tile will go into the movable container and can be picked up from there.

Mine does this too, I re-deeded countless times to get the hole up against a wall. No such luck.

More like the Grandfather.. doddering and slow, occasionally craps itself when it's least convenient, terrible memory leaks, and never fails to embarrass you in front of your friends.

That probably has the following reason:
The mouse hole appears at the southern end of the tile you target. This means, you cannot place it by a northern wall in such a way that it looks like the hole is in the wall. It is always located one step away from the wall.

Use circle of trans and place the mousehole "behind" the wall you want it to go in.

I used an axe in my keep on the mouse hole and it went poof.. no deed in pack nothing on floor..just vanished.60k points down the tube.

Unfortunately, you cannot place a mouse hole on an exterior wall. If the wall you want to place it on is an interior wall, click the cursor on the wall itself, but higher up on the wall than where you want the mouse hole to go.

Disaster is right.

I got two mouseholes; one is now hidden under the stairs; one got destroyed when I axed it (AFTER the patch fix). Very disappointing.

good thing I still have the original mousehole from Castle British.

I tried as well to place one. Up against a staircase. It fell under the floor I guess. I went to customize my house to find it, but it wasn't there. I ended up having to page a gm, but it must have been lunch time because all I got was the canned "we do not replace lost items" response.
