Can anyone help me? I've just re-activated my account and found that im having bad mouse lag. It takes up to 3 separate movements to get from 1 side of the screen to the other. Basically the general reaction time is too slow. On my desktop the mouse moves fine, however. I've changed the "separate thread" option in UO options and also sped the mouse up in my desktop settings.
Im running UO on a mac with VMWare fusion if that makes a difference....

Try updating to or reinstalling the latest drivers for your graphics card and also get the latest version of Microsoft DirectX. Usually graphical and mouse lag is because of a problem with one of these two things and you would not notice it on your desktop.

I updated directX but the graphics drivers are abit harder to find. I'm running an ATY,RadeonX1600 and updated drivers don't really exist through the mac. However, because im also using VMWare Fusion and windows xp i think there might be a way. It's just a little more confusing. I've also been thinking it could just be my mouse. It's an old school 1 button apple mouse. I've updated drivers with no luck.

Hmm yes I would say the VM would have something to do with it. All I can suggest is trying to find the Mac drivers for your gfx card and reinstalling them on the Mac OS, you may need to install them on the VM too.

You could also try changing the settings on the VM to allow it to use more of the physical computer's CPU, RAM and GFX and see if that helps.
