What's the best build?
What's the best level of scrolls? Do they absolutely have to be 120s?

I built two one with magery mastery for pirating she shreds dread pirates and all crews.used all 120s on her
The second I went Bushido/ninja used only 110s he is my spawn bear but I can do all content with him.
The builds pawian suggest are all strong but it's tough to go wrong with one

If 2 slots, I made a guide. Notice mine has 110 scrolls. Pets don't fizzle, no need for higher than 110 magery scroll.

the mare is 2 slot, so I'll follow that guide.
Bear belongs to a char with spellweave, even at basic level it had no trouble getting its 100% ready to train against crazed mage & wind elementals with a little help from consume, vet and an occasional gift of renewal (without a focus) I look forward to using it when fully trained. I took it up to 'ready to train' because I couldn't remember where I'd opened it. Bushido & Ninja appear on the available magics list

I think I'm going with a version of Mark Bradburn's Teddy, yet to decide whether to go with 120 bushido/120 wrestle 110 the rest or 120 wrestle, 115 bushido/anat/parry, 110 the rest

I followed your guide and made some beautiful Ursine. But you put all the scrolls at 120 (and I too!) as is written on your guide and not 110

I said 110 is fine for a 2 slot nightmare.
