How to play.
Declare Your Allegiance. Click on Register on the homepage. You will be prompted to enter your name, email, and state/province. You will also be asked to choose your Realm (Order or Destruction) and your army.
Gather Gold. 500 Gold will be added to your War Chest just for joining the fight. You can earn more Gold in a number of ways, including recruiting friends and interacting with embeddable content. The more you build your War Chest, the stronger you make your region and Realm.
Engage in Battle. Starting July 30, 2008, there will be a weekly battle on the Road to WAR. Participate in the weekly battles and fight for yourself, your state, and your Realm.
Win. Coveted prizes go to those who fight the hardest to defend their Realm. Every member of the Realm that controls the most territory at the end of the campaign wins a Never Ending Bowl of Custard and a special in-game title they carry into Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. In addition, all of the winning Realm's capital cities will start at Level 2. Top individual performers also win a special in-game item—the Signet of the Cursed Company.
Play to win
Play for Yourself
By gathering Gold and doing well in battle, you will gain Victory Points for yourself. The top 10 players will win a place on the Leaderboard and special in-game prizes (see awards). One Gold is worth one Victory Point. Additional Victory Points for battle will be awarded each week to those participating players on the winning side. Also, if you participate in a battle and your Realm wins, you will receive a trophy for your Trophy Room.
Play for Your Territory
The Gold in your War Chest will always be counted for your state, province, or territory. You can gather more Gold daily to protect your state and help in the war effort.
Play for Your Realm
Each week, you can allocate a portion of your Gold to other states and provinces to help your Realm win battles and gain territory. To allocate Gold, enter the amount you wish to pledge on the Road to WAR homepage and the state you wish it to go to. Your Points will not be affected by this, but your War Chest will diminish. Self-sacrifice is the price of war. Ultimate victory and its reward will be your prize.
Awards
Weekly Awards: Caches of Victory Points
Players who participate in a battle and are part of the winning Realm will receive Victory Points, should they meet the requirements of that week's battle objectives. They may also receive a trophy that appears in their Trophy Room. There will also be a trophy for being part of the winning Realm overall.
After each battle, participating players in the winning Realm will earn a cache of Victory Points. Others may receive Bonus Victory Points for meeting certain battle objectives, as outlined in each weekly battle.
Grand Prize: Never-Ending Bowl of Custard and Player Title
After the final battle, the Realm that has control over the greatest number of regions overall, will receive a special in-game prize that no one else can get in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning—a Never-Ending Bowl of Custard—and a special player title. The custard may be eaten or hurled at an enemy, and will always be replenished.
In addition, when the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning servers go live, the capital city for either Order or Destruction will be placed at Rank 2, depending on which one wins overall in Road to WAR.
Prize for Top Individuals: A Special Warhammer Online In-Game Item
Individual honors will also be given for the top Gold earners, best recruiters, and other top competitors throughout the Road to WAR. These players will receive a special in-game item—the Signet of the Cursed Company, to use when they play Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.
