Moonglow Responds

To the Citizens of Britannia

Many of the noble and esteemed members of the Council of Mages and Moonglow Council find striking similarities with the experiment of Kronos and the facet-shattering magicks employed by the infamous wizard Nystul. As many will recall, the original split between Royalists and the Council of Mages occured heavily in part due to ideological differences centered around the sundering of Felucca and the process with which the magic was performed. The parallels between Nystul's constructs and the detector of Kronos are too grave to ignore and abide.

The previous experiments of Kronos the Mage in moongate technology have brought new facets to light, and added convenience where needed to the citizens of Britannia. His previous contributions aside, however, the Council cannot brook any advanced experimentation with a substance as volatile as blackrock. The recent destruction of the island city of Haven force us to act pre-emptively in the name of survival.

In the interest of the perpetual survival of the Moonglow Town Council and the Magocracy, we the people of the isle of Verity and the City of Moonglow do hereby banish the substance known as blackrock from our midsts.

We of the Moonglow Town Council and the Council of Mages do willingly defy the edict of authorization from the Royal Council of Britannia to complete the blackrock detector device.

Be it also resolved by the Council of Mages of Britannia and the Council of Mages in Moonglow, the Faculty Chair of the Lyceaum and the Moonglow Town Council itself that we declare the renegade mage Kronos to be operating free of the will or direction of any of these governing bodies.

We order an immediate halt to the construction of the Blackrock Detector device, until such time as Council-appointed investigators can determine whether or not the device poses any danger to the safety of the island and its inhabitants.

Regards,
GreyPawn the Wizard
2nd Seat, Council of Mages

Since he's doing it with the blessing of the Britannian guard, perhaps you should organize a wall of mages to stand around the site, hands together and keep anyone from entering.

Dancing a jig. In high-heels.

With fireworks. And chocolate cake.

Just presuming the fate of your protest based on past experience with protesting anything the "Britannian government" does.

But enjoy anyway.

Some of the blackrock pieces used to be insurable (think they were the ones from Magincia) and are not anymore. Haven't checked the large ones.

My small pieces from Magincia were never insurable. The large pieces are and I believe the small pieces you get from mining are insurable. Been a long time since I got any from mining though so I don't remember.

ah - kma - I have a very nice home on Glow and I would not wish such a thing on anyone, mage or not. Moonglow has had more invasions and difficulties than any other city. Note: Ophidian Invasion, Ant Queen Wars, Undeed Invasion, Dark Wisp Invasion.

We always come out on top though, so bring it on Devs.

Aye we have !! I have re enforced my one Moonglow home closest to the Blackrock device quite fully last eve, stronger walls, less breezie entryways, and have been readying myriads of potions, bandages even scrolls for resurrections should the need be there, we shall have some ways and means to try to heal ourselves up. Should that home closest to the blackrock device become compromised due to close proximity to it all, identical set up will occur in my kin's south glow location.

Having had a world of hell try to destroy our fair city and isle, we know by instinct how to prepare for the worst, res our dead anyone's dead, and so forth, it doth not mean we shall prevail every time, but the plans and co operative efforts of the citizens living there, have always have worked for us thus far, over the ages, thus we shall continue to hope our efforts succeed again.
