Monster Gypsy & 73 crystals with no robe

I got this second-hand. I'm selling crystals, cause you know I sell things people need. This guy bought me out and told me he needed x amount more. I said well you probably just need to have 53 because that's the most I've heard of it taking. He told me had turned in 73 earlier and hadn't gotten a robe.

Wow!, that sucks so make sure you bring a whole lot.

so im guessing since she actually says "60" on her little blurb that 60 is the top out.

or else your buddy had a stealther there trying to get in on his action.
not that anyone would be sneaky enough to stealth up and wait for someone to start turning in crystals and start handing in their own in hopes of getting the robe instead.... that would never happen.

100k a crystal? holy crap i've been selling them for 25k a piece. no wonder there would be a mad rush whenever i announced them at the bank. i would sell 10 or 20 at a time.

maybe they upped the crystals needed in responce to the shorter turnover time.

The main idea here is that the number you need is completely random. There have been no indicators as to min/max, although some have speculated. 50 is a good number to work with, although there are some instances of higher numbers being needed. In the end you take your chances with lady luck...50 or 100...or 2 even.

well, all hope is lost for me then. this quest was fun at first, but i'm real tired of it now--and i've only obtained about 13 blues. maybe i'll just sell these off and buy a robe when they price goes down later.

i'm tempted to say that nothing is worth this kinda grind. i guess that's something i always liked about UO--there never seemed to be a 'grind' per se. even when i'm getting ingredients for imbuing, it's fun! but this.. this is a grind.

i'm here for fun, this is stressful. i don't care if y'all have 4+ robes already or if it's sooo easy for you. it's not for me. so i'm done with it. back to SA, that was actually fun.

doesn't like 20 or more appear a day? by the time the event ends, they'll be fairly common affair, probably selling for the low millions. i don't see them selling consistently for over 20 million even right now.

already got 1 luck one, and 1 harbinger one. also don't feel like competing with people trying to monopolize the garbs, and i've noticed hidden people by the gypsies. since i have an efficient way of gathering gems, i'm making a huge mint selling packs of 5 red crystals for 250k, and selling packs of 10 blue crystals for 250k, and the harbinger robes for 1.5 million. oddly, yellow crystals aren't selling, but that's ok, i generally chance them for assassin armor & relic frags anyways.

kind of with you on this...the other stuff is fun, and the new items are cool....but, man, it does take a while to get all those blue crystals, and I have in the back of my mind that ill dump all my crystals (thinking I have enough), and not get anything, only to start all over.
If the NPC could somehow keep track, that would work for me. but, i think im going to do other things as well for now

I've gotten four robes, requiring 11, 47, 46, and 12. It would be really, really nice if someone from dev would actually release the highest requirement on these things. I can think of very little that would suck more than burning through everything you've deligently strived for, and come up short once you've dumped all you have without anything

I don't know about the actual requirements for the robe BUT yesterday I gave four reds to Tomas because I miscounted what I had in the bag (and after twenty costumes or so I'm not really excited about them). Today I went to Tomas with ten more reds and, guess what, he remembered my last four, so I had to give him only one before I got a very nice dream wraith costume.
I can't be sure nobody else left him with one missing red, of course, but I wouldn't be so sure he doesn't keep track for each citizen of Britannia. And if he does, then maybe the gipsies do as well, and if you give them 100 crystals and the next guy heals them, when they get sick again you can heal them with a single crystal.

Or maybe not, whatever, I'm drunk on sake so g'night all =)

Your 11 and 12 ones are obviously from someone else healing them up that far. I haven't heard of anybody needing only that little bit without someone else healing them first and running out of Crystals.

You my friend are quite lucky indeed. lol

Hard to say, theres been a bunch of previous threads and I've seen folks post getting a robe with as few as 2 crytals, but yes it's very possible someone had been there previously and I justed picked up after they had departed. I can tell ya I saw no one else around or leaving the scene for what thats worth. I can also tell you that my 5th robe came at 22 crstals, and nobody had been there prior, I saw the NPC change and monitored until my character with the crystals arrived and got another robe. So I am certain 22 is possible.

The other day a guy was at the hags house offering 200k per blue. I wanted red so I traded 3 blues for 2 reds, a cat, and a yellow.

Blues seem to be popular on LS.

Wow, I'd have done that just to get the yellow. I want all the yellows I can get on Baja, too bad I mostly get reds.
