Results from Round Ten, horribly late - real life is seriously getting in the way recently
Trinsic Steel vs Bernie
Bernie seemed to run past Steel, landing a hefty hit on the way, Steel fought back well but seemed to have been surprised by Bernie's fast hit and gradually faded, and Bernie claimed the victory.
PeckyBalboa vs Camo
Returning after a short break, Pecky was keen to go, Camo seemed less enthusiastic and stood solidly in place from the start of the fight. Apparently though that was a planned tactic, as slowly but surely Camo wore Pecky down for a hard-fought win!
Sango vs Sky
Both fully trained, this looked to be a close match on paper, Sky seemed inspired by Camo's tactics and stood her ground while Sango brought the fight to Sky's corner. However, Sango had a few tricks ready, and although things started evenly suddenly a fast flurry of attacks put Sky well behind, and Sango finished off the bout quickly.
Cyanide vs Frosty
These two have met before, and are building up quite a few grudges between them - Cyanide began the season almost unstoppable, and Frosty had a poor early run, but things seem to be turning. A very close fight, first heading Cyanide's way but a tough defence from Frosty gradually swung things round, and in the end - although only by the tiniest margin - Frosty held on for the win.
Nari vs Trinsic Rose
Two almost identical birds in stats and skills, this was never going to be an easy fight for either of them. Nari took an early lead, Rose fought back hard and levelled things out, but after a short exchange of pecks and scratches Nari just scraped home the winner.
Quicksilver vs Nugget
Nugget seemed worried at the start, and very reluctant to take her place in the ring - and proceeded to fight very defensively, blocking most of Quicksilver's attacks although not hitting back much herself until suddenly she rushed in a series of attacks that rather overwhelmed Quicksilver. A surprise win for Nugget.
And for the novelty fight... a slight change in scale, we had an appearance by two Greater Dragons - Fyre, a 'hunting' dragon you may regularly see about in nasty places like the Abyss,against Brawler, a rather odd dragon who seems to have specialised in wrestling and resisting damage whilst ignoring his magery skills. A classic 'brain vs brawn' match, and brains were clearly the winner, as Fyre convincingly beat Brawler with a mixture of all skills.
So, a very odd evening - pretty much every fight went against my expectations (which might just prove I have no clue about pets...), the Trinsic stable had an unlucky evening after their past winning streak, and the league table got rather tighter - as things stand, with two more fights left in the current season,
6 : Cyanide.
5 : Nari
4 : Trinsic Steel, Frosty.
3 : Spike, Shadow, Bernie.
2 : Midnight, BlueBlaze, Spot, Lightning,Trinsic Rose, PeckyBalboa, Sango, Nugget.
1 : Lime, ThrobbingGristle, SnotKlap, Cerulean, Flash, Moonfeather, Dryad, Eric, Fir, Mixer, Quicksilver, Sky, Silver, Camo
Still a slight edge to Cyanide, Nari closing fast, Trinsic Steel and Frosty also in with a chance.... probably a closer competition than the World Cup, very annoying they let that clash with our chicken league season but we'll have to see which is the bigger attraction
