4th round of the Battle Chicken League - now including the results

It's that time again .... the fourth meeting of the season will be on Monday, 22 February, 8PM UK time, at the O*T Zento arena

Current points status for victories stands at :

2 : Midnight, Spike, Frosty, Cyanide, Shadow
1 : Lime, ThrobbingGristle, Spot, SnotKlap, Nugget, BlueBlaze, Cerulean.

A very open competition still, bring along your pets and see if you have a potential title winner!

We're still keeping the 50k betting limit, in increments of 10k, so even without a pet competing you can still come along, have fun, and make a profit if you have a good eye for winners! Please make sure when placing bets, you say clearly which bird you are betting on, and how much - it greatly helps administration of the payouts!


My flock are having trouble producing enough eggs to keep the 'Starter Set' vendor at the Arena active, so he's going to only carry one or two sets at a time for a while while they recover and I build up stock of new laid eggs again - he's certainly sold plenty of kits (they sell at 5k each, contain 3 new and 3 mature eggs, and currently he's accumulated more than 350k !), so somewhere out there is a huge force of chicken lizards. Either folks are holding back from our competition, running their own, or planning a mass assault on the realm with their new armies of birds! Maybe it's a future Trinsic plague.......

feel like I'm taking one step forward and two back with this event...

got 3 battle lizards now, but no UO.

New pc is great but windows 7 dose'nt like UO for some reason so there's not alot of training going on.
Hopefully I'll get it sorted for Monday and begin to make my way to the top of the pile.

An evening of some strangeness, usually things run smoothly but we had episodes of a runaway pet (thankfully recovered!), birds wandering around the arena after being told to stay still, and a couple happily staring into the distance rather than following their owners.... and a lag spike thrown in to make the weirdness complete!


For the actual fights :

Frosty vs Spike - Frosty very quick to start, leaped right in, and was way outclassed within seconds. Brave try, but a clear win for Spike. Seems Frosty has gone back to her pre-season lack of killer instinct, not something that can be said of Spike!

Nugget vs Cyanide - Even start, but Cyanide soon pulled ahead, and build on her early lead. After finishing Nugget off in style, Cyanide won handily and increased her points for the season in style.

Midnight vs Shadow - Very tough fight, although in theory from stats and skills Shadow had the edge, Midnight was determined to make a fight of it, and hung in bravely to make Shadow work hard for the victory.

Moonfeather vs BlueBlaze - Two fairly untrained competitors, those usually mean a good close fight and this was no exception, BlueBlaze made a quick rush at the start and held on to the lead, Moonfeather held on bravely until a final hit from BlueBlaze clinched victory.

Pepper vs Geeko - A fight I pretty much missed, they went into the ring, battle began, and the world stopped moving for me, several of the audience, and apparently for Pepper too, since when everything snapped back to life an almost unscathed Geeko was landing the killer blow on Pepper. After a check with both owners, we agreed that this one would not count towards the league points since clearly something had affected the outcome of the battle.


Since strangeness was taking over the evening, we took the chance to let Aron test out his 'normal' chicken against an ordinary chicken lizard. I do worry about these supposedly 'normal' chickens, they are rather dangerous as Rooster Cogburn demonstrated by beating up Lizard pretty quickly and barely taking a scratch in return! So to see how much the battle birds differed from their 'standard' counterparts, Empress (an untrained battle chicken lizard) stepped up against Rooster - and the result was remarkably similar to that of the previous bout, except Rooster was on the receiving end and we showed that 'battle' chickens deserve that name!

However... we then let Empress try her luck against Cluck Norris, a fully trained greater chicken, and one that completely overwhelmed her in a matter of seconds! Anyone wanting to build an army, greater chickens are probably the way to go....

Finale, for a change we brought out two clockwork scorpions, not something people see too often. Much clanging, crunching and rather silly attempts to poison each other followed, and although it began as a close match Clanky suddenly took a lead, and smashed the opposition into a little pile of scrap metal.

Next bout is planned for Monday 8 March, 8PM UK time, at the O*T arena - hopefully without the added lag and wandering chickens this time!
