Rl commitments is unfortunately keeping me (or rather my chickens) from attending the match tonight. But I wish you all good luck - and may the best chicken win :D

A very late, and shorter than usual, update on the results - and huge thanks to Mapper for helping out, since a mixture of a technical error and stupidity by me meant I lost the journal with them in!

Noir vs PeckyBalboa - Noir making a return to the arena that probably was not wise, Pecky proved much the stronger!

Nugget vs Trinsic Steel - One of the potential contenders for the title, Steel has been consistently impressive, whilst Nugget really hasn't been making the grade, and again although trying hard, was outmatched and Steel claimed another victory. The Trinsic stable is going well...

Cyanide vs Sango - Current leader against a well trained but in arena terms inexperienced contender - and a very, very close fight indeed with a stunning surprise ending, a victory for Sango! Which as I'll explain later really opens things up for the title....

Silver vs Shaboom - From veterans to newcomers, both birds making their first appearance at the arena, and as always new fighters make for close fights, although for once the theoretical formbook held true and a slightly stronger Silver managed her first win.

Sky vs Nari - Both trained, both keen, and a fairly close match, but the edge went to Nari who held on strongly for a tough victory.

Trinsic Rose vs Frosty - Frosty's a bit unpredictable, although on paper a winner she sometimes lacks a killer instinct, and meanwhile Rose, the newest of the Trinsic stables, clearly felt she had something to prove. A hard bout later, Frosty fell to the second Trinsic winner of the evening!

For the novelty final bout, a David and Goliath match - A ruddy boura against an iron beetle. It had been tricky getting these two trained to a point where they were a reasonable match (if you ever want to train an iron beetle, be prepared for a lot of work, they are massively strong but poorly skilled, and the things they would gain against fastest at similar skill levels are much, much weaker, so die from one hit. Makes training rather interesting!) Much noise later, and some concern that they might be going through the floor of the arena, the boura finally took the upper hand, probably smothering the beetle with sheer mass!

So now, the state of the league - and it's intriguing!

6 : Cyanide.
4 : Trinsic Steel, Nari.
3 : Spike, Shadow, Frosty.
2 : Midnight, BlueBlaze, Spot, Lightning, Bernie.Trinsic Rose, PeckyBalboa.
1 : Lime, ThrobbingGristle, SnotKlap, Nugget, Cerulean, Flash, Moonfeather, Dryad, Eric, Fir, Mixer, Quicksilver, Sky, Silver, Sango

So, the plan was for the league to run through until the end of June, which means three more meetings - and suddenly two possible challengers who could overtake Cyanide have come storming through.

Next meeting is Monday 31 May, 8PM UK time - be interesting to see how things work out, and if Cyanide can cling on to top place, or the new contenders can continue the drive for the title!
