[Cooking] mixing dyes

Hi, i have a cooker with 83 skill. I heard from a guildmate you need 90 to mix natural dyes, for getting b.e. ice red mixing red and white.
I suppose i need more skill, but it annoys me that when i try to mix i dont receive any system message that my skill is not high enough, it only says to me that i can't mix that.
I am gm alquemist too, and no results mixing.

Any advice please? It's my skill or i am doing something wrong

Are you using a mortar and pestle or a cooking tool? Maybe you aren't receiving that lack of skill message because you do have the skill, even though you may be using the cooking tool?

if you are trying to mix finished dyes that will not work ... you need to mix the pigments and then make the dye from the mixed pigments

damm, that was my mistake, have to try with the pigments

anyway there is no option in cook and alchemy gumps to mix, i suppose it's direct use, right?
(or i have to report another bug?)

To mix the pigments, just double click one and then when the target comes up, click the other.

The ice & dark are my favorites. Since I haven't had a mutant in WEEKS, that means I'm doing the naturalist quest constantly!

It would be nice if when you mixed two dyes that you ended up with two dyes in return. When i mix paint IRL, if I use one part red and one part yellow, I get two parts orange... know what I mean? I would be much more inclined to keep stock of ice & dark on my vendor.

yep, half of product "disintegrates" ^^
not so common to get white seeds, apart from doing the quest lot of times, and some white plants are so nice that it's a pity to destroy these
