Mind Blast + SDI?

I was wondering why Mind blast does not get a bonus from Spell Damage Increase?

I believe because Mind Blast's damage is unaffected by Eval Int. All direct damage spells affected by Eval Int are also affected by SDI.

Why does this need to be in the Five on Friday? The answer is that Mind Blast isn't affected by Evaluate Intelligence skill, thus no Spell Damage Increase. It has always been a special case like that.

Mind blast not being affected by Evaluate Intelligence doesn't mean it shouldn't be affected by SDI.
It's a special case, yes. It's always been a special case, yes.
Should it remain a special case when it comes to SDI, however, is a pretty good question. It's the only damage spell that doesn't that I can think of.

It is a special spell, called "MIND" blast, and is based on your intelligence.

AFAIK, it hasn't been affected by stats since AoS came out.

Edit: Except for the inherent SDI granted by intelligence (I think it's affected, but I'm not sure)... but I wouldn't go so far as to say that Mind Blast is based off of intelligence...
