How is the local scene on this shard? active RP PVP PVE? What would be the better well rounded guilds to seek out for such things?

There's a Thread just for the guilds on Atlantic which you may wish to check out. The shard is active in every aspect. RP is very much alive with several RP guilds. PvP and PvM guilds are plentiful as well, most PvM guilds (PvE) are exclusive to PvM while more PvP guilds do more of both. If you like working in a group Atlantic shard has plenty of opportunities.

DDP is a non faction PvM guild for casual gamers.

as I suggest to everyone.... joining a guild is a personal thing and should not be taken lighty..... create a character on Atlantic and come to New Haven at a peak time when eveyone is on.... Meet and Greet folks... get to know them, and see for youself what is what... You will see most folks on Atlantic is very helpful to returning players/Cross over players and helping them to get started here on Atlantic.

Ask around about guilds from the members... ususally most returning players find a new family here on Atlantic...
