Microsoft Goes Mainstream, and Other News of the Gamer World

"Flying body parts", that's what UO needs!!! ;)

Seriously though, there must be a way to bring back fun things like dismembering corpses. Perhaps there could be controls which could be used by parents to control modify content that might be problematic, or modify that content for countries where that content might be objectionable or even illegal.

Microsoft has firmly established itself with it's hard core clientelle, and is now branching out into more mainstream ventures. Well UO has been sufficiently fluffified* for a maistream/general audience, now it needs to work on regaining some of it's hard core appeal.

*Please note that I am not one of those who thinks Trammel was a bad idea, nor am I trying to put down any particular playstyle. One of UO's great strengths is that it appeals to so many different personality types and playstyles, it would just be fun to see some more content with some bite.

I agree with the sentiment your expressing.

In one sense it is a shame that Fel could not have more of that kind of stuff.

As a side note:

One thing Everquest did that was a lot of fun.

During Halloween, they created a vendor that had 0 cost "Costume Kits" (one time use). A kit for each NPC model in the game and some that were NOT in the game. To explain this, it would turn the person into a NPC model (Orc, Ogre, Skeleton etc).

You would think UO could do something like that.

Yea but if UO did it you would buy an ettin costume and it would turn you into a chair.....and you would be locked down unable to move. A gm would show up and tell you to check the knowlege base. ;)

Muwhahahahahaha but that would be so funny don't you think? (Obviously you do :) ).

*Shrug*

They also had a vendor that sold 0 gold Various Holiday Foods and Drinks (Candy Canes, Carmel Corn (Those Triangular shaped candies)) etc.
