[Fishing] MI and Serpents

Does Monster Ignore work on the monsters that spawn with the fishing nets? I know it works on land monsters but I have a White net and want to know if I will survive alone.

I do know the Ethereal Voyage does wonders, cast it right after a cast and they ignore you, but not sure about monster ignore, never tried it.
