My Carto guy pre-marks runes to the exact location of 6 or so maps then a friend and I go dig them up. We each have 2 accounts so we make sure both accounts are logged in near the actual dig spot. The characters we usually bring are a Carto/lock-pick guy, Tamer with GD or Cu, and 2 mage/casting characters. We keep one of the mages in a safe spot to rez anyone that dies.

When we do the actual dig we cast as many EVs as possible then everyone but the Carto guy hides--when the chest pops up the guardians target the EVs giving the Carto guy a chance to hide(usually--not always he can hide--sometimes he is just OOooOoOo). If the carto guy died, he heads over to get a rez so he can unlock the chest once all the guardians are dead. Once the Tamer and the mage kill all the guardians the Carto guy returns to unlock the chest. The tamer will stand by with his pet to dispatch any other monsters that spawn while emptying the loot. If we get too many Ancient Wyrms spawn at once (have had 3 at once) we try to pull away one at a time to kill until they are all dead. When finished we move on the the next map. We follow the same routine for most maps, except for the easier guardians we usually do not need to hide--just kill them.

I have GM mining. Using the EC I look at the Treasure Map and compare it to the world map for the general area. I recall/gate to the nearest location I have marked (building a T-Map library by area) walk to the spot and dig. If I have a hard time finding the spot, I use the magnifying glass thing to get a better look and adjust my digging . Usually It takes no more than 5 minutes or so. I find that it is not very difficult to find locations using the Enhanced Client (EC).

I am using classic client. Guess i will have to look into getting the EC. I have not found a sure way without a lot of hassel (using uoc and taking screen shots) to find the spot on the map. I am also gouing to have to redo my template, drop disco and add mining. another EA change that was not very well thought out

what is your current template?

I can't fit mining on my guy, so I was hoping I could find the spots easier...

I am....

120 magery, 120 provo, 120 music, 120 peace, 100 cart, 100 lockpicking and the remainder in focus.

I was hoping not to have to delete anything, as I can solo a lvl 6 with this template.

I to am having a VERY hard time finding the spot with the client client.

I usually run 2 accounts at the same time, so there is a combat/mage type character ready to take over the killing once my T-Hunter digs up the chest. But the skills on my T-Hunter are:
Carto 100
Fishing 100
Lockpicking 100
Mining 100
Magery 100
Eval Int 100
Med 110

With these skills he can still cast EVs and FS serps when fishing. For the most part my Tamer takes care of any spawn in higher level chests.

I dont see why people are adding mining to their templates. There really is no need for it.
If you just have a little patience, and dig around the area you can find it in 1 or 2 mins.

I use the CC and use that magnifier thing as well, then match it with UOcartographer, its easy. You never dig on the actual Pin tip, its usually North East under the red ball of the pin.

All these abreviations are confusing me.

I use classic UO and UO Cart. And I looked and looked.

I went as far as going home, soulstoneing Peace, and taking mining and went back and still couldn't find it.

Is it because I am using the classic client?

I use the Enhanced client... the treasure map looks just like the game map except the treasure map is straight up and down whereas the game map is tilted.

CC = Classic Client
EC = Enhanced Client

If you run windows 7 there is a magnifier program in your accessories/ease of access
