sorry for silly question, but this one is new to factions- joined today.
There is chat for guild and alliance- is there also for faction? Or do most communicate with speech through speech program and mic?

There is no faction messaging system.

There is a faction messaging system, but only for the CL of that faction. They are allowed to send a message every hour or so.

Yes most faction guild or any for that matter use Ventrillo or Teamspeak to communicate with each other.
