Message From Me To Catskills

Hello,

I am Gareth from the Chesapeake shard. I was reading the news and forums and saw you all are getting the town banners and teleporters. So I wanted to pop in and let you all know about two people who helped me send the Teleporter idea into Mesanna. Who approved the basic idea on what you all had the meeting about. So I will start from the beginning.

I was trolling...Erm let me start again. I was viewing UHALL and saw a post about the City Of Olympus and a event they were running. So I went to visit and ran into Rotep who told me about the city and showed me the Tavern he works at.

Rotep introduced me to Katherine who I spoke with and still do. They both attended our all shards tavern night and our savages attended a healing event in Olympus.

Katherine gave me the encouragement to send my idea into Mesanna. Had she not I would have never sent it into her. Mesanna said lets get everyone together and have a meeting about it. I about fell out of my chair. So about 500 messages later to Mesanna about questions and different ideas (Im sure she found me annoying lol.) I started a Discussion thread on it. She made a post saying.

"I was going to throw out the idea to get things moving along of maybe offering to put up town banners?"

Which got the ball rolling. I kept in contact with Katherine about different ideas and she attended our Fair Grounds meeting as part of our village. Which my small little idea Of teleporters turned into a Recognition program for Banners, Queens Court for acknowledged Towns to send representatives, Invasions and Teleporters linked to the Luna Fair Grounds.

EM Dudley and EM Vladimere also put in hard work on touring and RP setup for the idea. Mesanna brought up the banner idea and invasion. So I just wanted to let you know that two people on your shard were what made this happen and the person who posted the invitation on UHALL.

So that is that. I just thought you all should know that if it wasn't for people on your shard, I wouldn't have sent the idea in. *smiles*

It was an interesting idea, and is always nice to hear that folks from Cats are still making suggestions, and Kathrine is sure full of them For my town, I will not be seeking a teleporter linking the Fairgrounds to Aegis. This just sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. Where we do hold a few events that are shard wide and publicized by us, most events in Aegis are executed for the RP community, and they already know where to find us. When we do plan another for the general public, it will be publicized here.

Some of the other ideas I did like. Allowing towns to provide items that the EM's would lock down to make the place a bit more homey. I remember this being suggested many years back, and am glad that it is again being looked at.

I also like the suggestion from Dove of allowing at carpenters to craft signs that can be placed on doors and walls inside a house. This would be great for shopkeepers and folks wishing to a long last label their treasure room without placing a book on the floor

What I do not like is any idea of making items or EM boons available to a town based on the size of the town. It is as you all know rather easy to place houses all over the place. There is an abundance of land available in most areas.

Also, we should hesitate to only call a town worthy if it is holding weekly or monthly events. Their are some towns on Catskills that have been here since the beginning of the game and never hold a public event. Should they now be deemed as unimportant?

I am not speaking out for my town. Aegis holds a great many events and is as large as it needs to be to accommodate our people. But those towns who do not throw wild hunts or fairs. Have no taverns that open on a regular night, or may be a town of 2- 3 buildings should not be treated as any less important then those who have the time and desire to hold events.
