You are awesome, you are always making time to lend an ear to the playerbase and care what they have to say. Easily one of my favorite Devs in the 11 years I've played.

So thanks!

Indeed! Mesanna you have singlehandedly come a very long way to changing my opinion about DEV's.

And you have certainly done wonders for the game.

Keep up the good work!

I love what you're doing, Mesanna! In my opinion, the game is a lot more fun now.

Between you and the EMs we now have so many great new items. New items fuel the fire in those of us who are collectors and decorators.

Also, the fact that you, personally, get down in the trenches with the players helps make us feel that we really matter and are perhaps more than just number$ to at least some part of EA/Mythic.

I am still expecting to see a some sort of dispenser that gives out scissors in a variety of colors. Tailors need new items too, you know! You could put up a "Cut It Out!" statue/dispenser somewhere. *hopeful*

Again, I love what you are doing. You have brought life into the game and renewed interest in many of us. Thanks for that and please keep up the excellent work!

I have to sign this too. Nice to have a dev that knows the player side of the game better then even the hardcore players. Special events on her own free time, and not afriad to hop ingame to fix or enhance gameplay. Great job Mesanna!

Wow, I am kinda speechless. I have typed in 3 reponses and backspaced all of them out, they just were not good enough of a response for this. I think the best one I can say is. Thank you, you guys are great to work with and fun to listen to.

For example:
Where else would I get to hear about an ingame wife being sold in global chat? *laughs*

I do have to admit, you've done one heck of a job for everyone that plays & enjoys UO. Even with the few that can ruin events/outings for everyone you just took it in stride, fixed the problem *Inserts Evil laugh here* & made the event enjoyable for all. Ty :thumbup1:

I'm adding my own appreciation for Mesanna here too; When we discovered the owner of our Guild House on Europa had finally cancelled their account, and it had gone into decay, one of us paged an EM desperate to try and save the personal history and rares that had been left as decoration where we couldn't access them. Eventually the message got passed up the chain and Mesanna herself came and spent nearly 30 minutes of her time, checking with us which things we cared for... including Sprout, the 246 week old Parrot that had sat and watched all of our guild dinners. He lives at the front of my house instead now, waiting for the day when his actual owner may once more return... thanks to Mesanna!

Thank you for everything you have done for this game.
You are making the world a better place :)

People need to also realize, that most of what she does in game for everyone (em events etc), is done in her free time, outside of work.

Thank You for caring about uo and it's players.

Too few people realize just how hard Mesanna works for this game. My appreciation for her knows no bounds and no one has more commitment or a better work ethic than her.

I'll just add my gratitude to this thread as well. I think Mesanna is one of the few things just about all of us can agree on. She is terrific.

Mesanna does a lot more than her job...

Town Banners
Memorials
Interaction with players
Spontaneous events
Rebuild of a few mage towers

All have been done recently and I believe all on her own time after work.

Well, all of those things are a must for someone who calls himself a developer.I don`t think there is a need for a special 'thank you thread'.

A well done job should be appreciated, but not mentioned. It`s nothing special.
But if someone doesn`t do their job right, that should be mentioned.
After all, Mesanna is here to serve those who pay their monthly fees and fill her pockets with precious $$.Nothing more.

Really, dude?

None of those things are a must for someone who calls themselves a developer. In fact, of all the things Tazar mentioned, Mesanna is the ONLY dev who does them. On her SPARE time. At HOME.
Not because she wants money. You think she gets paid to do extra things from home? Then you're daft.
She goes way above and beyond for this video game because she loves it, not because she wants money. Quit making all the classic shard people look so bad.

I`m not making all the classic shard people look bad, only myself. And I only speak for myself, unlike you.
Quit thinking that if you think I`m bad, all the others will think the same.

Mesanna even makes time to listen to thieves who's victims send in complaints that her, and her staff, must deal with. She does not discriminate, and somehow makes time for everyone. So, yes, thank you Mesanna.

You mean at your work or school no one is told that they do a good job? Ever?

Wow.

I think most will agree I am the first person that will call out someone when I feel they aren't doing their job, be it here in stratics or in real life. But I think we should also celebrate those that continuously go above the call of duty and do a great job. Mesanna definitely falls in the latter category.

Mesanna has devoted an incredible amount of time and energy into the game. She often appears in game, and when she does will go out of her way to listen and talk to the players. She solicits feedback. She answers questions. She is on stratics and will take time out to assist or respond to things, no matter how little it is. She initiated the banner system, recognizing long standing establishments and cities to promote community. Mesanna goes in to help the EMs set up for certain events or functions, even late at night. She has went to shards for the express purpose of having an event to meet and greet the people who play the game.

So, yes... I think if there is anyone, anyone at all who deserves a thanks, it is her. You should always celebrate people who go out of ther way to make a positive impact on others.

If Mesanna has done anything wrong, it's that she's gone a little overboard. How can anyone throw a wet blanket at that?

She's adding life to this game that wouldn't be there otherwise. It's a slow process to draw players into this stuff. But it's working, and will continue to work.

I think that the main thing that is in UO's future centers around communities in-game. Player cities and counties, etc. I think Mesanna will be playing a major role in helping to develop that. She's given a great deal to UO already, but I don't think we've seen anything yet.

I'm not speaking for everyone else, but while you may not be making "all the classic shard" folks look bad, you did a SUPERB job of portraying yourself in an unfavorable light. I have a feeling that I will be censored, but I believe the term is akin to an orafice in the posterior region.

When people perform well, whether it's for pay or not, they deserve recognition. Seems you only get recognition for the other side of the spectrum. Perhaps you need a different hobby besides trolling threads.

Have a nice day.

wet blankets? hrmm
*looks for anything other than the positive remarks generated towards an amazing lady*
Nope, don't see nothing here. Only the good. Yep that's how I roll instead of letting anything but the positive move forward *winks*

Mesanna,

Thank you for bringing back that lovin' feeling in a way I had only heard stories of when our UO gods and goddesses walked among us. Making towns and establishments a thing of the future instead of a thing of the past. Interacting in fun devious ways that make it a joy to die mercilessly at your hands. Giving the EMs license to say, "hey guys, I wonder if...." and letting the players gather to experience an idea.

*sprinkles glitter on this thread*
(it needed some shiny)

In schools it is called "Catch them doing something good" awards. Given to children in the area who are caught in the act doing nice things going above and beyond helping out other students, putting things away without being asked... things that later in life are the mark of good citizens and community minded individuals.

Something that is seriously lacking in todays me, me, me society.

And where I work folk are awarded stars and special badges of honor for being helpful, considerate and going above and beyond in dealing with patients whom we see everyday.

Not only does it help workflow but it helps moral making the workplace a much more pleasant environment for everyone, patients and staff.

And as Petra is famous for pointing out negativity doesn't get you far... you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar...

And a teaspoon of sugar helps the medicine go down.

Though the squeaky wheel gets the grease when the wheel grinds constantly it gets replaced.

So if we want to show our appreciation for someone that we feel goes above and beyond and deserves a huge BEL'LA DOS! (THANK YOU)... Then who are you to douse our parade with the yellow liquid?

And if more of the DEVs were like Mesanna then think of the possibilities of UO...

Perhaps the praise given to our beloved DEV will inspire others to join her in the trenches meeting with the players and listening to our wants, needs and desires... and just having a good time with us.

Sure sometimes we can be critical... but most the time that's because we have a genuine love for UO. And when one of the DEV's like Mesanna shows us that she too has that love we like to let them know.

It's that love for the game and devotion that has kept UO alive for 13 years. That and there just isn't anything else like UO on the market... and there isn't likely to be anything nearly as rich as UO either. Nothing has come close and so long as UO continues to expand and improve nothing ever will.

The EM program is also worth a ton of praise. And guess who's in charge of that? Mesanna.... *smiles* Yet another thing she's done a wonderful job with.

The last Mesanna event on Cats was something special. There were some pretty major technical issues (not Mesanna's fault), but I haven't seen as many characters in one spot in UO since the invasion of Trinsic all those years ago.

And this is a sure fire way to kill the motivation of anyone you are leading, or anyone who is serving you in any way. You want them to hate you, and never do anything "special" for you? This is the way to approach your relationship with them. It's also sure fire way to destroy the motivation of any children you may have and pretty much guarantee they will be life long under achievers... ;)

No, but I wont be telling them that they are doing a good job everytime they do it.
If they do it, it`s because they chose to do so, and if it`s really their own choice, players opinion would be irrelevant.

If someone quits because he was not being told constantly that he was doing a great job, then why was he doing all of that?To get praises and thanks?

Whatever, I`m not talking about Mesanna right now, I actually have never seen her in game, so I have nothing to build an opinion upon.
