I'm sure I'm not going to win any friends when I say this but I believe now is the right time to look at merging shards to increase the general base base in certain regions. I'm currently wandering around Europa and there is hardly anyone playing these days compaired to 6-12 months ago.

Lets take Europa and Drachenfels, both shards have low individual players, surely it would benefit players on both shards merging onto a new shard as well as the cost saving to Mythic from having to run two servers.

So how would this work, 12 months notice would be provided to players on both shards advising them that as of ..... Both shards will be shut down.

Mythic would turn off the function to create new housing on both shards at an undisclosed date in order to audit the amount of houses on both shards and to assign an appropriate number of transfer tokens based on the amount of lockdowns. A special transfer token would be created that would only enable the user to transfer off that shard to a shard of there choice.

Once the new shard is created, only accounts that have housing on either Europa or Drachenfels would be allowed to gain entry for the until the full migration has been completed. This is to allow only the population of both shards to place a house in a fair way and equal way.

At the point when the end date is reached all remaining houses would enter a state of decay. Access to the shards would be restricted to any players that had housing on the shard at the cut off date. This is to allow players to collect items that belonged to any friends that may have played on the shard that they wish to recover for historical significance.

I believe 12 months would be fair in order to get the message across to non playing subscribers that this will be happening.

So what are everyone’s thoughts???
