Medusa - How many gorgon lenses, and what's the quickest way to farm mats?

1) What's a safe number of lenses (non-perfect) to have on my gear for each attempt?
2) Is there a max per piece?
3) What's the quickest way to farm fragments to make dust?

Why non-perfect? After doing Medusa once, you should have enough scales (you get them from her while you are fighting her)...well, forever. Just keep getting them each time.

I use 1 on my head piece and then one on my neck, and check the head piece every minute or so when fighting her, once it runs out, I'll put on another.

Thanks. Non-perfect b/c I got steamrolled when I first tried the fight last night (no lenses to start, so gaze kept me from doing much, leading to evil twin). It may be worth it to just go in and get some "live" scales and high-tail it out of these and craft lenses, but if I can make some lenses from dragon scales to start for example, I don't have to waste the keys.

I'm assuming using one lens put a set/random number of charges on an item then?

yup head, gorget earings, they get used up in that order....perfect lenses apply 28-40 charges...crystall demon room is the place to go to farm for dust: 4 crystall to one dust; 3 dusts to one lense, i.e 12 dust to one lense.....
