me and DOOM - the ultimate bad luck

i hate to admit this in public.
but i have NEVER....... EVER gotten a DOOM arty while in DOOM.

ive purchased lots in game, but never have i gotten one on my own.

im sure most of you are thinking.... so what.
but here is the funny thing.
i have done HUNDREDS of runs through DOOM over the years.
and on ever single one ive been in the top 3 damage if not the top.

i know this for sure cause when my guild goes over there ususally IS only 3 of us there. (small shard)

its the ongoing joke in Team Speak.
everyone else gets a arty on average every 3-4th tour through.... me.... not so much.

i long ago gave up waiting to get one.
even with the addittion of the GGS for artys i still have yet to get one.

im sure its something in the code somewhere.

i see people all the time in mala and tram training on golems.... I CANT DO THAT EITHER!!!!!

i have to do it in fel and i have to heal my golem because of it.

its the anti-poo code i tell ya.

i have heard of one other fella who cant golem train in tram either so far.

I have a similar curse when it comes to holiday gifts. Considering how many accounts I have (lots) and never ever getting any of the rares not even if I do other shards. My luck sucks! I would claim the same for artifacts but I don't spend so much time trying to get one so I won't.

Ah Poo..... for many years I felt like you do.... then they changed doom and now I'm a GOD in doom..... I actually get arties.... It's awesome!....

However.... I don't get things at the spawns no matter how many I try.... I don't get stuff at events and I most the time seem to have the worst luck at all of the peerless... I used to go with my old guild and it seemed to me that all the others got marks of travisty, the eyes, they all had at least 2 or 3 crimson cintures before I finally got my first one...... (only one I've actually gotten without buying it)..... still I go time and time again..... I don't get set pieces... rarely get hair dye..... if I do its almost always ugly greens.... and I almost never get the main ingredient be it a mane, eye or whatever.....

so I defiantly feel your pain...... Keep trying though.... eventually our luck has got to change!

Well,
I got one after 6 month, after that (and the changes which should improve the chances to get one) none.
I also never got one of the rare gifts with 5 permanent open accounts and full chars on more than 10 shards.
So you are not totally alone with bad luck.

That's really, Really funny and you have NO idea how funny..... to me anyway..... after going to doom for years with my guildmates and watching as they got arti after arti.... getting highly annoyed I FINALLY got my first arti! I was so excited...... till of course I looked in my pack to see the stinking dragon lance laughing back at me....... CURSED I tell you!.....

I know other people with the same drop rate.

Yeah, but once you get one of those lol...your luck will improve. I always had bad luck while the old drop rates were in place, but then one week I got the frostbringer, then the hunter's headdress, and then the armor of fortune...all in one week. That even was on 3 different trips during that week.

So don't worrry. Once you start holding your breath...lol, it will happen.

If you have not cycled through 10 times, with KILL CREDIT...then I doubt there is a problem.


Again, what you did prior to last years revamp has nothing to do with how it works now.

I've done 7 or 8 rounds so far with no drop. This is with 2 other people doing it with me so I've gotten credit each time. They haven't gotten drops either.... Hopefully tonight's the night.

ive easilly done over 100 runs since the new system came in.
all of them down with 2 other guild mates and NO ONE ELSE around.
probablly the top damager out of the three of us.

but i actually feel BETTER knowing im not the only one whos has gotten the shaft in DOOM.

deep down inside i thought that it had to be me, had to be something in the code.... when i registared all those years ago i happened to be assigned some number that means i dont get any artys or something like that.

so i feel a LOT better knowing that there are a fair amount of people out there who have been doing it and not getting anything either.

ya know what i wonder.... i wonder if the people who havnt gotten artys can or cant train on golems in tram either?

wouldnt that be interesting if all of us couldnt tram train on golems and where all fel trainers.

then it definatlly would be kinda strange.

No, I was hoping you'd get that along with your bone crusher.
I've only gotten 2 artys in Doom and both were after the changes... Voice of the Fallen King then the Midnight Bracers. Both off the stealthing knight guys.

I am curious how I will do as far as drops go. It's kind of discouraging to read of players that have diligently hunted there for years, and have *never* gotten anything.

I wish the RNG performed it's duties a bit better. That seems anything but 'random'.

I have experienced the same thing. With miltiple characters. My old PvM guild used to live in Doom, it's all we ever did, a few runs every night for months and months. All other guild members pulled about one arty a week on average, some obscenely lucky people pulled two a week. Me, not a single one ever. Tried several different characters too, all on the same account.

I've been with my bard mage and my tamer several times since the Doom drop rate "fix" a while ago, not seen anything so far, yet I know people who were getting 1-2 per night when they first fixed it, before they re-fixed it and nerfed the drop rate.

I think your account is assigned a random percent chance of receiving an arty, Some accounts have high percentage, we have 0%

thats the good part.
the funny part is that i have been power gaming doom with one character for the last while with my guild mates...... nothing.

the other day i took old Poo back in and parked him there.
then last night i decided i would use Poo instead of the other toon ive been using (cause they SAID that the more ya do it the more doom points ya build up.... its GGS for artys they said!!!!)

at any rate, old poo did the room crawl and as i was waiting for the rest of the lads to come out of the last room i was standing there looking at the DF and i noticed a ring in my pack.

not sure what room i got it on, but there was a nice ring of the elements in my pack.

i dont know what is funnier.
that the toon i have been using religiouslly didnt get a arty, or that my oldest character did.

a guild mate asked how many runs i have done in doom with Poo.... too many to count.
but that was all before the doom arty GGS came in.
i lost count over 200.

so anyways, my cherry has been popped.
im no longer a Arty Virgin.
i can now put on my ring and hang out at the bank and look 733T with the rest of the bank sitters!

I had the exact same problem for years, i musta clocked up easy 100 hours in doom and never nothing. Then i xsharded to napa to go join a mates guild and play over there for a bit and BAM first doom run i got an arti in the first room and since then i get one every 3-4 hours made me think something was broken with that toon an the xshard fixed it

Congrats! I had similar luck before the ToT system was put in, but I've made two trips on my archer and gotten Tunic of Fire and, this last one, Orny (!!) dropped to me after about 40 rotations.

So... Considering the "popping of your cherry", would you in actuallity be un-shafted, or... uh... shafted?

Maybe this advise will help you:

1. It is a matter of luck. I failed for a year, then I got 2 arties in 2 days.

2. Make sure you deal enough damage to the creature, and are not more than a screen away when it dies.

3. The more people are hacking a creature, the lower your chance for a reward.

4. Be patient. Some day it will happen.
