i cant find maxim the seeker of truth to start the redeemer quest... does anyone know if the quest is still active?

(Since I wasn't there in UO as this quest was live, I may not be qualified for answering your question. So take with caution
)
He ought to be in the Lycaeum but I couldn't find him either so I guess he's gone. Anyway you couldn't fulfil the quest because Books of Truth are not longer spawning. Sorry. Maybe you find one at a vendor or you ask at the trade section for your shard.
