Does anyone know of a good reason to have more than the 40 LMC cap? I just noticed that my main mage/weaver has 53 LMC without the totem of the void. If there is no reason to go beyond the max, I need to tinker with her suit. Thanks in advance.

It won't hurt you to have over 40 lmc...but it won't help, either.

If it doesn't help, then it hurts to some extent. For example, my crafted arms has 8 LMC. That is a wasted Mod on her suit if the LMC is not helping. If I switch out that piece I can add something more useful, perhaps better resists so that she survives longer. :) Thanks for info.

In your first post, you acknowledge that the cap is 40. If you were looking to lower your 53 lmc to fit more mods on your suit, why even ask if leaving 53 would cause a disadvantage? Were you trying to determine, for certain, that the cap was 40 lmc?

I was just wondering if I was missing something. I know there are caps for DCI and HCI but certain things will lower them temporarily; thus providing a justification for exceeding the cap for them. I was just making sure I wasn't missing something like that. I didn't think so but figured asking the masses would provide a more definite answer. Thanks Syrus.

Gotcha. Well, you are correct: lowering lmc intensity will allow you to boost other mods. :)

Mind rot is -25% LMC. (On no resist I believe)
Purge Magic also has a -LMC Mod when there is nothing to purge and they dont resist.

However, No even with these two abilities in Game.. Having Higher than 40 LMC Hurts your Suit for somthing you either want Higher or As another Mod.
