mapping uo to a xbox controller?

Is it even viable? ANyone have any experience?
I replayed alot of old games latly using xmapper and a xbox 360 controller. SOme are great, some are playable to some extent, some just dont work.
UO is just about the only game I cannot find a pre programmed game image for, thinking about tinkering with it.

Any thoughts?

I did it years and years ago. Got it working but it just didn't translate very well.

Basically this. You can do it but it's not very practical.
