Many loot tables missing Splintering + Eaters

First off, I've noticed monsters that do not drop Splintering weapons, also do not drop Eater armor (and vice versa.)


The following do not drop Splintering weapons or Eater armor:

• Monsters in Tokuno (yes all of them) - farmed
• Treasure chests in Tokuno - didn't try that many
• Corgul & Shadowlord (underwater boss) - farmed

I'm sure there are others, before I list them all I have one question. Is this intended?

EDIT: More testing made, everything in Ilshenar and Ter Mur drop splintering/eaters (this includes treasure chests.)

I don't know what maps you've been doing, but I've been getting eater armor from level 5 & 6 maps quite regularly, and in fact got several from the level 6 map I did in Ter Mur last night. I've also seen splintering weapons in the chests. It might be that the properties are more common in Ter Mur, since they are SA properties.

Hmm.. I'ved posted about this in all PEERLESS dungeons but are you certain about Tokuno? I thought I tested there and did get some stuff... I'll have to give it a whirl again. If you get ANY of the Stygian Abyss mods dropping then you have ALL of them dropping.

I think the SA properties are restricted to the Abyss and Termur lands and the revamped dungeons (shame, wrong, etc.). Those properties did not get extended to other areas with the global loot change. So treasure maps in Termur will have them, but ones in Malas, Fel, Tram, etc will not.

Well, I also found that literally everything in Ilshenar drops splintering & eaters.

Everything from Skeleton Dragons all the way down to Faeries.

The treasure maps I did were only: LV

I will try a Ter Mur map, the ones I've been doing are in Fel/Tram.

I just did a Ter Mur for the first time and it had a splintering weapon. I've done at least 20 Treasure Maps in Tram/Fel and haven't seen one. Can you confirm 100% that you've got splintering weapons out of Tram/Fel Treasure Maps?

...and in my opinion, if a faerie in Ilshenar can drop these type of weapons, then why not a fan dancer, ronin? If Exodus, why not Corgul? I don't think it's intended.

I didnt bother to read the whole thread just the OP but im quite sure splinter and eaters only drop from Tmaps in Termur and Ilshenar.
Ive done LOTS of maps so im quite sure its accurate.

What if you don't need gear with eaters or splintering etc? I like the fact that there are still a few places to farm gear with more/higher intensity 'legacy' properties and not end up wasting a slot to the newer properties.

Just showing the opposing side to this... Splintering is *mainly* a property for a dexer, that's not to say that a mage couldn't use splintering. LRC is *mainly* a property for a mage, that's not to say that a dexer couldn't use LRC.

So, my question: Where are the areas I can farm that don't drop LRC gear?

What Bleak said was...."Ter Mur , Dungeons and select creatures" Is this even correct? What about overland spawn of base britainnia.... or malas? I also get the feeling that where Stygian Abyss mods can be found wasn't so much a developer choice as it was a problem implementing it globally.

To me, I read this and I translate to: "SA properties were never added to anything besides Ter Mur, Dungeons, and select creatures."

I'm sure I could be wrong, I'm hoping I'm not wrong cause if I am than that trueley means that not only weapon/armor types, but also weapon/armor properties are monster specific.

Which, no matter how you look at it, it's just generally not a good idea.

Cause when you start going down that route, how the hell are new players supposed to know what they have to kill to get what?

Some people are arguing this point - "The market is going to get flooded with all these new items!" - so what? GOOD! We need new stuff and if everyone has equal opportunity to get these items then it's balanced. What exactly will flood the market? Eaters? CF? Those properties have been on reforged armor for years now. Splintering, however, has not been.

I can goto Ter Mur or Ilshenar, kill stuff and get splintering weapons alll day. But I can't get a splintering Bokuto. The only place I know of that existence is in Covetous. This is my personal qualm, I know of others having similar issues, and i'm sure there are many others out there that run into the same problem.

They can drop as 100%? Since when? If I ever get elemental damage on weaps, it's always as a mix, like 30% physical, 20% fire, 50% cold.

It's been a long time, but I have gotten a couple of 100% poison and a 100% energy weapons in the past.
