Manticore - Hidden Special Move - Armor Ignore

Finally got a manticore and took him to various spots to train up skills. At destard i noticed the crimson and platinum always died on a big hit (216 to 219 damage) even though the normal manti swing was 30s to 50s per hit. Started watching it closely and had the same happen on regular drakes and dragons. Tried arctic ogres and same thing, would get a huge spike in damage every so many hits. I don't think this is the same as the hidden bleed attack. Anyone know if devs have talked about this with manticore? It took a long time to get but I'm loving this guy, he is tough and doesn't screw around!

That's the Tail Spike ability, it's a frontal cone attack which also inflicts Bleed status. Watch his animations, you can see him swing his tail overhead and spray a bunch of spikes out when he does that ability.

A new pet ability?

It's not listed on the Animal Lore screen. Juvenile Manticores will occasionally swing their tail overhead and spray out a bunch of spikes, which is a frontal cone ability that deals 200s damage to a single target or two targets, and 50s-60s damage to multiple targets, inflicting a Bleed on all of the victim's hit as well. It's what makes Juvenile Manticores actually pretty good for champ spawns on NL, since they can hit multiple targets at once with it (so long as they're in front of the Manticore).
