Is this a good idea is it worth all the time and effort or what?

Well to each his or her own I guess. That is the nice thing about having several classes to choose from. If one isn't right for you, then the next one might be.

Easiest thing to do is just roll one, and go try it.

I, personally enjoy it. Before I made my warlock on the server i now play on, I had a druid up to 36 on Bronzebeard and a Warlock just below that level.

The versitility of the Druid is awesome. If you spec right nad have the right armor you can main heal some instances. Otherwise you can do a mix of tank healing.

If played correctly a good druid CAN easily be a great tank/healer in an instance.
