Yes I was thinking the same, but I don't know whether or not the guards will be put back. (They currently don't whack the golems that run around). And remember stealing a power scrolls within the guard zone isnt an issue;)

Keep on talking and see who shows up in Felucca. :)

In the early days of UO, I had my 300 gold stolen when I was going to a trainer. Took me a week to get that same skill. Yes. Getting 300 gold without being PKed in my first month of play was that hard.

I don't like theives.

Yes it's what I meant, it's very easy to steal a powerscroll since they weigh one stone.

Anyone who is considering putting up a vendor house in Fel Magincia may want to spend a little bit of time wandering around on Siege to see how people run their shops there. There are many player-run shops and public houses on Siege, far more than I ever expected to see.

A few places to run around and check the shops on Siege are:

All around Zento
All around the Yew moongate
South of Umbra

You'll notice I didn't list Luna. Yes, there are a few shops in Luna, but is is not the "shop owner's paradise" that it is on other shards.

Stick around on Siege long enough to also listen to some of the general chat and see how sales are arranged for items not already in stock on someone's vendor. If you really want to travel around on Siege a bit, the moongate north of the west Brit bank is now a normal out-going moongate. If you go to Umbra, south of town about two screens below the lower bridge is a big open plot that serves as a "hub" with teleporter pads linked to other pads in many houses around Siege.

And, of course, if you take the time to visit Siege and decide to stay a while, give a shout out in chat and let folks know. You will find the majority of folks there are very welcoming to newcomers, in a good way of course.

I run a fel shop on Atl and have for ages. The house is in guard zone of Vesper (or at least the majority of the house is) and except for a brief period when guard zones were removed from fel towns, it has enjoyed such safety. However from experience I can tell you running a fel shop is still difficult. Some players don't realize my shop is in guard zone, and I have to explain it to them constantly. Many players nowadays don't even have a "guards" macro at hand and they don't know why they would need one.

So I am afraid to say, Fel Mag will not be a super thriving business center and it will still not be for the feint of heart to open a business there. I have multiple reds and blues and faction customers at my shop and for the most part they respect my shop rules, but it takes an active role as shop keeper to weed out the ne'er do wells. Also to entice customers to shop Fel you have to keep your prices reasonable if not downright cheap. The good thing is you can create a loyal base of customers and, due to decreased traffic, not have to grind constantly just to keep your shop stocked. The few who brave Fel to shop at my place are usually assured of stock and fair to cheap prices.

So I welcome the edition of a guard zone market place in Fel, I just warn you not to expect too much.

The biggest problem with Fel Magincia is that a rune to your guard zoned mall is going to look the same as a rune to the middle of the wilderness surrounded by 6 guys waiting to jump you.

That said, for Fel players, a guard zone player housing area will still be nice. I think, in the long run, Fel Magincia may end up becoming more of a hot spot than Tram Magincia.
