How helpful, if at all, is Inscription for Magery, Mysticism, and Necromancy? Is it really needed?

As for the Casting Focus bonus (a recent addition) that applies to any spell, from any casting skill.

With a high enough Magery, Mysticism, or Necromancy you can craft their respective spellbooks with magical properties.

Im talking about the casting focus... I assumed that everyone should know what sdi scribe gives by now... (its in game forever)
