Mage template help!!!

HELP!!!

What has changed in the last few years? What is a viable pvp template? Is it still worth being an elf? What are the common templates for here and on prodo servers?

Do I have any friends out there that might wanna send me a message or some vent info?

The biggest change to Magery since you've been gone is that they turned Magic Reflect back on.

Inscription and Resist Spells work together to build you a Reflection pool, an amount of shielding if you will that shows as a percentage on your buff/debuff tag. Take too much damage and the shielding is down, with a cool down to cast magic reflect again.

Another noteworthy change is geared towards pure classes, and not hybrids. A pure mage, in this case, will get a huge bonus to SDI. Add any other magics to the template ( Necro, Chiv, SW, Myst, etc... above 40 skill I believe ) and you do not receive the bonus. The bonus along with SDI gear allows you to kill effectively with explo/flamestrike combo.

With the new weapons with splintering and the LP dexers, it can be rough and this last template has proven to be equally powerful as the others in the field with the new "focused" aka SDI increase.

im just wondering why the wep skill basically because i can cast lethals without wep skill. im just trying to understand this one ty

Whats so good about this mystic stuff?

I was thinking something like

120 mage
120 eval
100 med
100 poison
100 inscription
120 resist
60 anatomy

or something of that nature...

inscribe with new spec stuff seems good. Poison seems really good. Maybe i'm trying to do too much and maybe I need more defence. Seems like the power level has climbed quite a bit.

GM Poison gives what, a 10% chance to LP?

70 Fencing/Swords gives you the ability to use Infectious Strike and I personally prefer the weapons poison over mage casting.

Just my opinion. I also run 45 HCI on said template for this reason.
