Just restarting a character on a new shard and thought a bit about this as a possible template. I've played a mage/tamer before and it was good. Wondering if there are benefits to adding Neco or even going Neco/Tamer with no magery? Without the skill boards I've no idea how to research this so any input is welcomed. Thank you.

Necro can have some use on a tamer, but not sure how much.

Let's see...

Animate Dead - don't count as followers, but also don't believe get credit for their kills but they do make for nice meat shields
Corpse Skin - Will make GD fire breath more effective but lower physical attack effectiveness
Exorcism - always nice to get rid of a ghost cam
Evil Omen - Will help mage casting pets
Lich Form - Nice MR but have to have a few HR on suit or watch your health

Rest of the spells really would need SS to make them effective. But Mind Rot could come in handy for draining mana pool on mage casting MoBs, duration will be short without SS.

Or if you going to do direct damage with mage spells there is always wraith form to leech some mana back.

hi i play a mage necro tamer like u said.

skills are, magery, eval int, 60 necro, ss, vet, tame, lore, med.

the main benefit is that you can go wraith form and suck back mana from your fs-ing the boss, while your dragon is beating down on it/tanking.

but the above mentioned set of skills is only possible with a +113 skill set suit that has sucky resists.

alternatively, my friend plays a necro tamer that is the same as above, but without eval int, and with high necro. (not sure whether he has med or wrestling)

you can still go spawning with that, and fight somewhat, with necro spells. and oh you have a dragon beside you at all times :)
