Macro Question (Regarding Last Target)

I couldn't really find a subforum for something like this, anyway...

Is there a way to bind a key or make a macro that sets or clears a last target?

I'd like to have a key that clears "last target" to avoid accidentally attacking friendlys after healing them. I'd also like to be able to set a target without attacking first.

Are these 2 things possible?

I believe both clients have systems set up where you can have it use a key to cycle between targets (as part of the targeting system added a couple years ago), but not sure how they function.

IIRC, there's no erase last target macro. Nor is there a simple macro to set your last target.

When I need to prime my last target, what I do is that I use my animal lore macro to bring up the targetting cursor and use it to prime it. It has a short skill delay that shouldn't block you from using another skill, doesn't reveal you when hidden, doesn't aggro. Using an eval int macro would work even better in case you actually have points in animal lore, but I am lazy.

Also, as what Basara says, create 2 separate macros, 1 to target guildmates and 1 to target hostiles.

Finally, UOA's last target queueing and erase last target queue, and the ability to record macros to heal someone without messing up your last target might be helpful as well.

Might not be the answer you are looking for, but hopefully gives you a bit of help.

Are you in KR or 2D, with or without UOA?

In 2D there is an old targeting system and a new one. The new one can be disabled.

The old one has target next, which cycles the small hp bar underneath targets around everything in range. Range can also be set with 2D macros.

After you get the small hp bar underneath what you want, you can use attack last, which will put you in war mode and flag you on the target. Or you can use last target which will use any cursors you have up on the target.

If you want to target just with macros and use UOA, you have to use the UO side last target, before the UOA last target macro (which many use on the mouse wheel) will recognize that target.

UOA's que target feature can be turned on or off, and can be macrod to clear it's own que, it doesn't remove the target.

I think in KR Escape clears things that flag on you, but I'm not sure thats what you mean.
