What is the optimal level of luck to have these days?

Also, if two people are in a party and one has luck and the other doesn't.. what happens? I read that it's both the person who does the most damage that has their luck used, and that it's just the highest luck in the party that is used. Which is true?

Thanks!

The sweet-spot for luck seems to be between 1000 and 1200 luck.

As to how it is applied in party - I have never really understood it. It does seem like I saw somewhere that it is the luck of the person that got the last hit that is applied when there are several people (non-party) targeting a monster.

Taz define "sweet spot" for me please. I was just about to make a post stating that luck seems to be brooken. I have 2120 luck after using the luck statue, and I consistently get worse items with luck than without.

Luck is an odd thing to try and figure out because it does seem that more does not always mean better. I was at the birthday party and one of the questions asked was about Luck. the developer who answered stated something to the order of "If an item is set to drop 1 in 10,000 kills, its possible with over 2000 luck to 1 in several 100 kills." But I am thinking he meant fixed sort of loot items and not the random mod created legendary arficats that drop in places like Shame. It seems that when hunting for those types of items you need a level of luck that will get you max level of mods but not always the max number. I seem to do best when right around 1000 luck..When I get up to 1,800 the items contain way too many neg mods.

the more luck you have the more weight an item can have which means its more likely to be cursed, so if you have 0 luck you will get less cursed items but will also get less weighted items,it also depends on what monster you are fighting ,now with that said ive been playing this game for 13 years im sure somethings prolly "broke" or not adjusted the right way

Actually, I've been running with a 140 luck garb (I realize out of most people's finances), when I do go hunting and that is the only luck I use; and seem to pull a fairly decent amount of items that turn into relic fragments. I ran with 1200'ish luck when the dungeon revamps started and got the same exact stuff. I switched out the luck garb for a normal garb at one point, and noticed a significant decrease in relic frags per run than with just the 140 luck bonus off the original garb.. Granted I think I've found like MAYBE 5 items I ever kept from the revamped dungeons excluding new arties (of which I've gotten 1); but I hope this helps in trying to solve the riddle of luck. Meow.

And actually I may go into Shame or Covetous and do a few runs and show results maybe tonight or tomorrow. Would be super awesome if anyone else wanted to as well.

I did go out and did some testing on luck, mainly just to see the differences at different luck amounts. I chose Wrong's Mage/Executioners room using 24 total spawn (12 each). Every item/gold being totaled and unraveled.

0 Luck

13852 Total Gold
131 Items
35 Relics
183 Essences
56 Residue

600 Luck

12763 Total Gold
138 Items
47 Relics
214 Essences
28 Residue

1000 Luck
13619 Total Gold
127 Items
44 Relics
182 Essences
20 Residue

2000 Luck
130 Items
41 Relics
201 Essences
26 Residue

1600 Luck was close to the 600 results while 1680 almost matched 1000 luck.

Another "newish" thing to factor in. Looting rights have been refigured to include healing and bard abilities. If you are talking best possible outcome on party loot, that bit of mysteriousness could stand a little illumination.

Basically - luck from 0 to 1000 seems to improve your items the more luck you have. Additional luck beyond 1200 seems to reverse the course and the net effect is that the additional luck seems to start subtracting from the peak rather than continuing to add... If you plot out the luck 0 to 2500 left to right and how effective it is bottom to top - it will look kind of like a bell curve (for the math guru's) with the best chances for items ending up between 1000 and 1200.

ill try it out, let ya know what results i get later today

2 hours farming mages and executioners in wrong, not a single keepable or even sell-able item with 1200 luck. If i wanted to farm relic frags obviously I coul just throw on my whole luck suit, but it seems luck really doesnt work for me, or its just that big of a mess. Though it could also have as much to do with the loot generator as with luck itself.

I gave up bothering with trying to use luck when hunting ages ago. The dev's really should give some up to date details on how the property works.

Thanks guys. It's actually made making my suit easier. I only need to stick luck on one more item or I'll go over the "sweet spot" it seems.
