Luck and Group Combat question

I have a question about luck. While at the birthday party one of the Devs stated that when you kill a monster with the new loot system luck kicks in right as the monster dies to generate the loot on its body.
How does that work during a party kill? I was killing Unbound Energy Vortex with another guy the other night. I have around 1600 luck and he has under 100 (says luck is not important). When the UEV would die we’d both see the same loot on the body so I am trying to figure out how that would work. Does his luck pull mine down? Or is it the highest luck in the group?

I have heard that in a party the luck is averaged between the whole party so my guess is that you would see loot that was generated with luck of 850, no idea if that is true. When I use luck I see more artifacts from the monsters I kill in shame. With 0 luck I have killed earth elementals and mud guys for a few hours and gotten like 1 lesser artifact with a 2k+ luck suit killing earth elementals I have looted greater and a major artifacts.

I think they put out the loot drop via luck for the new loot dungeons are: In a group effort the creatures loot based on killers luck is based off a random killer pick. At death by say four players the loot will be generated based off one random players luck of those four. So if the four had lucks of 280/1100/2100/-400 at death a 4d is rolled and thats the loot.
