(Player News) Lucidity takes Governorship of Britain

From a merchant born gargoyle of The Royal City to Governor of Sosaria's capital. It has been quite a life thusfar for Lucidity and it is only just beginning.
A few words from the gargoyle herself,

It was a long time coming, this harmony between human and gargoyle. To think back on our ancestors and the hate and sadness we each experienced it is a proud moment for me, as well as for all of us. We have finally closed the door behind us of hatred and distrust! I hereby accept the seat of Governor of the great Capital City of Britain and invite the Governors of all the cities to stop by, send a runner, or a pigeon and communicate as a whole with us here in the Capital.

If there is anyone out there who still doubts that Sosaria is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, last night was your answer.

It seems I missed quite the night of excitement. Stupid RL has been crazy.
Hopefully everyone can take a step back and accept the value and fun of elections. Similar to rl elections UO elections can become very intense. You are allowed to win by popularity, bribery, smear campaigns, and buying votes. It might not necessarily be "fair" to the people who only play one server... but the same fate would happen in real life to governors who only speak about one city as opposed to statewide changes, and appealing to voters all over the state, by friendships, promises or otherwise.
Flutter plays a lot of servers and thus has a lot of supporters. That's something that cannot be changed.
Ultima Online is very much a multi-shard game at this point. I can only think of a hand full of people who 100% ONLY play one server.
Friendships are currency in Ultima Online, in more ways then one. That is one of the many beauty's of this game.
I can't think of anyway that the devs could change a system that allows the elections entirely in the hands of the players (shard citizens and visitors), and still be able to call it an election.

Anyways, my two cents for what its worth.
I hope everyone involved can shake hands and work on planning their next campaign =)

I could name one off the bat who you thank up above, but in a locked forum here admits he was paying people 1 mil to vote for you. But, you keep saying you don't know anything about that. I don't really care about the bought votes, to be honest, real life is the same way and that is why corporations control our government. So UO imitates life in that respect.

I was talking about this in game when you were threatening to page on me. Like I said, I don't really care about buying votes, that's how the world unfortunately works. What bothers me is the constant denial. Just own it.
