Lt Dans Quest - Guide

This is what I have found out so far:

The quest begins with Avery he tells you about treasure Ricardo kept in a warehouse near Britain Wharf. Where he means is on the map marked 'clue' in there is a chest double click it to get a lantern.

You wear the lantern, light it up and go to the position in that map marked 'Ruins' there is a book you can read. Once you have read it you go to Lt Dan (marked in the first map) speak to him then claim your reward from his chest.

I have marked runes to these spots in a runebook on my shop floor, West of Zento. Feel free to use them.

I've not got anything good as yet, but it seems handing it in to Lt. Dan also gives Karma at the 10,000 Karma level...

Edit: 4th run through, and I got... The Frostguard again! Well there goes the market for them Negative Karma character this time, didn't gain or lose any Karma that I can see handing it in to Lt Dan.

EDIT AGAIN: 5th run through, negative karma character again, no karma gain from Lt. Dan and... Ranger's Cloak. Either the drop rate is much, much better now, or I'm ungodly lucky with events as usual Sorry

What am i doing wrong? Avery is there siiting int he tavern but he is silent and no quest is given.

It's not a quest you start by clicking on him; you say certain key words in his conversation to advance the clues; The same goes for Ricardo over in Yew jail, but you just stand there and let him ramble on... However you don't need to do this at all; just go directly to the chest to pick up the lantern, read the books at the hidden locations whilst it's equipped, and return to one of the two contacts, double clicking to inform them of what you saw...

Today's 5 character run through earned 2 poor talismans, 1 relic piece, a gorget and... another Ranger's cloak, he he he! No sign of any unique loot yet though.

Hey dudes,

As i've said before i've only just returned to UO so I have a couple of questions if you have the time

Can a fairly lowly character complete this quest? For example 70 Mace/Tact/Anat and 80 Parry?

Also i've seen you mention run throughs per day, can you only do it once per day with a character?

I made it easy even on crafter with 60 magery and 120 tailor/smith, carpentry tinkering and so on.

You can also just run a combat character to the spot, mark a rune, and recall the non-combat ones in and then straight out again... so far, the two spots haven't had much spawn to speak off though (none at all for today's!)

If anyone has problems reaching today's location, a treasure map rune book has been placed on the gypsy's table at the Angry Mongbat Tavern (next door to Barian's Mall - co ords in sig). Rune 117 is closest, 118 - 120 is only a few tiles away.
Cross the gypsy's palm with gp and she'll tell you your fortune too .

Little warning, Lovely red with vollems at Day 9 spot, They like to eat you.

Just keep in mind that you do not have to interact with Avery at all or even Lt. Dan before the end.

Just go to the chest, get the lantern, go to spot 1, click the book, go to spot 2, click the book, etc...until all books are clicked, then go to Lt. Dan, double click on him to get the karma reward, then keep clicking the chest for rewards until it starts saying its locked.

I am in Skara Brae and will stay there for 30 minutes. I will cast gates to the island. Anyone wanting to go there and click the book, the rune is right next to it.
Anyone who's stranded there as a ghost, come through and be rezed.
