So I played back in 2000-2005 and have not since. I was always on SP and have no intentions or desires to play on Atlantic or any others but after logging in it seems that there is nobody playing anymore? Is it just a close knit group of 15 people or what? Is there some remote location that everyone lays around sleeping because clearly Luna is not used anymore lol.

welcome back. there are people around, just not always in site. alot has changed since you have been gone. siege is not as happening as when you left i am sure. however, i am sure there are some old names if you ask around. use general chat while you are in game and post here in this forum. i am sure you will get a warm return.

This week had been a little slow, maybe RL /winter holiday together with new stuff on TC.
However we are there, we was 30 on at the weekly sundays VvV battle and that's sure not all on the shard as we do have alot non VvV'ers too.

Hey all! Yeah I logged a few hours yesterday and saw a few people, some stood and chatted for a few moments and the others just ran off lol but all the same was nice to be running around.

Tavivar I hope your arthritis goes away.. really sucks that it hinders your gaming

Frej I did see your other post about it and that was one of the things I liked because back then I was one of those evil reds! So PvP was always my focus with finishing champion spawns as a close second then followed with Doom farming. I always loved the community on SP and it's what honestly has made every and any other game suck for me. Nothing has even been able to compete.

Bo Bo it's been so long it's hard for me remember but I think I spent some time in both C8V and TnT. One of my other mains was Eorlyn. I can't remember too many old players but some that stick out are Gwendar? Agustus, and Crystal.

I don't think I will be able to recover my old accounts due to forgetting the emails they were under and one of the ones I am pretty certain it was yahoo decided to delete it without asking me. Personally I am okay with starting over but what I really want to be able to do first is find a good home guild/community to be able to at least talk to while in-game. Any suggestions on who to talk to or where to go is highly welcomed and sought.

Until you find a guild, use the ingame chat system. If you´re not on a trial account, click Chat on the upper part of your screen and choose General chat. Use the comma key "," to type in chat.

If you need a place to call home, I'm sure you will fit TDO* fine. I also believe you can recover your old chars, all you need is to remember account name and password.
Login to account manegedmens page with your EA account and link your old account, you need to put _uo after your old account name “myaccount_UO”
The help on uo.com is almost as confusing as the account managesmnt page Account Login Guide – Ultima Online

did you drop the gold into your bank box? if so it's not lost it just dosen't show as piles of gold anymore. if you go to a minter and say balance you can see how much gold you have in your bank. also if you single click another player and select trade you can see the ammount of gold you own.

Gold now becomes a number on your character once it´s deposited in your bank. So no need to carry gold if for example you need to buy something from an NPC.

Although the new bank system makes sense in many ways, my first thought was, oh my, the game now has yet another way to bewilder new and returning players. There is no evident UI support, such as a bank balance update message when you deposit gold and it vanishes before your eyes. You get a bank balance message every time you use the trading window. Makes sense, yet why no message at all when you deposit gold?

First I just gotta say I love how helpful yall have been and the responses!

Ah okay I think I get how the new gold banking system works now then. Yeah seems like it's better but yall should have seen me attempting to check my balance and use it like the ole days lol. Please tell me that I can still make checks? Man I loved having chest full of 1 mill checks and just tossing a bag of goodies to new players/new guildies that included a full battle ready suit, weapon and reagents appropriate to their skills and a max'd check! Always made them happy and eager to play.

So how would one get in contact with TDO and why do you suggest them? Drake has been making me want to join GIL with how helpful he's been and his past history with my old guildies... Which no has no real difference other than I like the idea of that

So on another topic I see now that Broadsword is operating and continuing UO? I'm assuming they are very involved with the community? What are our opinion on them and their performance to date?

Also could people start posting the typical or normal times/days that they play at please? That could help me see when I should try to be more active possibly. I am EST(-0500) and if you give me your local time I can easily convert myself just make sure you include your zone else I will assume you are or converted to Eastern Standard.

We are different time zones in TDO but sure we are not so many as GIL.

I pop in and out during the day when I'm playing. What I do instead of camping out in front of a t.v. When the mood strikes I wander in.

Hopefully staying clear of the spicy junkmeats and chips I'd gotten into will continue to ease the ouchie of keyboarding. What I get for drifting away from veggieness *winces* Part of being old I guess. Back to whole grains, beans, nuts, and fruits for me.

I normally am in game in the mornings training here on Siege for a couple hours, my crafter has five skills in the 90s so with ROT I am looking at a gain in a skill every 12-15 minutes, so I have a lot of time between the waits to chat, I also attend the EM events on my mage Kimi Mori and the VvV on Sunday with my Archer Zardoz of Crete.

Did a couple maps with a [GIL]T hunter this morning, I was the mage in support Had to have a break between waiting for the ROT timer on my crafter. A welcome break from the grindstone training.

Broadsword is doing alot for the game. Nobody expected vendor search... They did it. Nobody expected the new money system... They did it. Nobody expected a new expansion. Really nobody. People argued they were only in maintenance mode... And what did they do? A new expansion. They made some nice story arcs, a nice invasion. I think, they do the best they can to keep the game alive and to evolve it further. I am quite content

Wanted to say thanks to everyone who has posted here and who have also helped me in-game. For those here who don't know yet I am playing a char named Eorlyn. I may be making a new post somewhere else on this forums or directly to Broadsword mainly explaining what it's like for a returning player, assumptions of what it'd be like as a new player and why the current system they have in place is hugely hindering players from staying. I'll include a link here once I do but if yall agree with what I end up saying I'd appreciate support from the community to help reinforce it. All of my points will be accompanied with reasoning, ingame experience related to the point being made and a suggestion on a way to improve on the system.

Some main points will be: Lack of ability to succeed due to not being able to use vendor search or general chat, only help.

The mandatory 2 week trial for new accounts even if/after they pay and upgrade the account with Sybian + Xpacs.

My hopes are that if we can help Broadsword improve the system then the community will grow and UO will just become better and better and better. Nothing is more aggravating to someone in my position who is ready to play this game and has bought it only to be told I can't play the game still.
