Looking for quiet spots to train a thief.

I'm wondering if there are any out-of-the-way quiet spots in Felucca where I can get a packy and some stuff to steal, and train the stealing skill by stealing items off him without anyone interrupting me or trying to PK me.

I am NOT after any of the following 3 things so please don't reply if you are interested in any of the below:

Requests to join factions and/or guilds.

Being PK'ed or revealed while I'm trying to train stealth up.

Listening to annoying people who want to ridicule the thief profession.

Please private message me or reply here with good training spots.

This thief is going to be an artifact only thief. I'm not interested in anything to do with Factions or sigils, or stealing from other players.

These days you could stand at Brit Moongate and train stealing without being interrupted.

But seriously, just go to the furthest corner of the map and start training, you would have to be unlucky for someone to run into you.

Just don't stand near houses or clearings a house would fit because the IDOCers will then find you.

As for training stealing, you only need 100 gold if I remember correctly because 10 gold equals 1 stone and therefore for every 10 points stealing you gain add another 10 gold to the pile your stealing.

Why train stealing past 20?

You can get items that give you 80 in stealing and with 20 stealing you can be GM. This will then allow stealing anything thats in Doom and stealing for factions. Stealing from players is pointless and an exercise in futility.

I may be wrong, but I think you will find you need GM REAL skill to steal from doom? I dunno, I have never done it personally I just seem to remember someone telling me that once.

Not sure about needing real GM skill, but as all the arties weigh 10 stones that makes 100 skill mandatory. I have GM Stealing left over from back when I played Peach, stoned to a spare char & I find 120 Stealing (from Shadow Dancers) makes taking deco arties much much easier. GM allows you to attempt it, 120 improves your success rate.

Maybe 40 real skill would be more convenient if you can twink up the other 80.

Idealy you need to find somone you can trust with a house in Fel. Other then that, just go through a MG in fel and walk to a quiet spot. There are no particular spots. Perhaps Delucia, walk somwhere just out of Del guard zone where you can walk back to safety quickly. But yeah, try first to find somone with a fel house. Good luck. rolleyes:

Why dont u train stealing inside a town? just tell pakky to guard you so u dont get wacked.

I just checked that getting pet to guard u wont get wacked as I havent trained a thief in at least a year and thought maybe the rule might have changed. Both my thieves are 120 so i couldnt confirm that u still get gains, but u could last time i was training.

A for what skill to train a crate thief up to. you really want at least 115 for Doom. at GM-110 the fail rate is just infuriating.

Sadly i have to agree with UOPodcasting in that stealing from players is totally pointless now. Insurance and passive monster/pointy eared freak reveal has killed the profession for good

I dunno about it being completly dead, i sucsessfully stole a 115 magery powerscroll today.
