Hello Brittany, good to see you here on Catskills. I'd like to suggest GRI though since you are fairly new. GRI (Gentle Rest Inn) has been long noted for their efforts of helping people who are just starting out. They have a nice following of veterans who can answer most, if not all questions you may have. They are allied with several guilds but not warring with anyone. There are other guilds like PGoH (Purple Guardians of Honor) and UP (United Pirates) who do RP wars. They are also very good people. And if you can watch the boards here, there are many daily posts with information for current events. Good Luck to you!

The best thing to do is go to some of the RP events and start interfacing with the players there. You'll get a good feel for which group fits your play style and where you want to be. That is assuming you are interested in RP at all.
You can usually find the main guilds that help alot of new people to the shard in New Haven. (watch out for pirates demading taxes) Or, you can usually finds RP'ers in Aegis, which is south east(ish) of the Yew Moongate. PGoH is north of Trinsic near the swamp. UP is south of Trinsic through the jungle, just look for a small bay littered with bottles. *sly grin*.
If you ever see me or one of my alts around (Tucker, Norrar, Xanthus and of course Va'lis who is my main) I will gladly help you get started out. Plus, I can introduce you to many of the larger guilds (Everyone except a few guilds likes me hehe.)
