I'm coming back to UO after three years of not playing. I have just a few questions:

Do any of the west coast shards have housing available?

Would any spawn guilds take a newb who can only play a couple of times a week? I'll probably transfer a couple of my better characters.

What are the good champ spawn chars these days?

Do any west coast shards have more adult oriented pvp'ers has opposed to kids?

Are there any changes to barding that I should be aware of? I'm thinking of starting a bard and making a little gold to get started.

I hear it now takes awhile to GM music, last time I did it it took a couple of hour of walking around in the woods near Brit. Will I have to spend several days to get decent enough for tougher PvM?

Thanks,

Im pretty sure you can find housing space on most west coast shards. I can say with certainty that you can find housing space on Lake Austin as that is my home shard. I can tell you a good guild for doing spawns with that I am involved with just shoot me a pm. As for spawning templates alot of people use necros and mystics.

LOL isn't Lake Austin a ghost shard?? Only shards even left that are worth while to play are Atlantic, Pacific and Great Lakes. They have the most people, so your best chance of any pvp otherwise it's pretty boring out there

I wouldnt call Lake Austin a ghost shard theres a pretty active community albeit a small community. There are a number of active pvpers as well but if you pvp regularly youll be fighting the same ppl.

Yes, there is still housing space available. The devs changed it about a year back so that trial accounts can't be used to hold houses anymore.

On the more populated shards, you'll probably have to camp idocs for the larger spots.

For guilds, depends on which shard. You'll probably have to ask around in the specific shard forum.

Necros (with mystic now) and warriors still dominate spawns.

There was an upgrade to barding. There are now bard songs now (called masteries). On top of that, each kind of mastery will grant you a bonus to the specific bard skill as well. Check out the bard forum.

Music still easy to GM, same amount of time as before.
