Lobster fishing

I wasn't going to waste your time posting this, but considering we are all bored with the servers down again...

I fished for 5 days, at least 3 to 4 hours a day with my crab pots to fill one order for 10 Fred Lobsters. I never pulled one up!! I now have about 70 each of all other varieties of crab an lobster minimum, but not one Fred. Is this some kind of joke by the devs? So I decided to get some more orders. Trinsic was an order for 15 Freds and some fish, Moonglow was another 10 Freds. Being as how I still haven't pulled a Fred, is it smart to destroy these three orders and start over?

What is the penalty for destroying orders anyway? I heard that you could not get another for one day. Is that an earth day or Sosaria day? Does the quest credit for orders filled reset too?

i don't know of any penalty for quiting one of the fishing quests. However, I do know that you can quit a quest and immediately get another form the same monger as I have done this many times in order to use up multitudes of fish in my hold and bankbox.

I have Fred Lobsters down on my list as being found at the Sea market and at Skara Brae between the isles.

LordDrago - the quality of the quests you get is on a point system, that gets docked points every time you quit a quest. The point system USED to be displayed in the Enhanced client, but one of the mini-publishes stopped the display.


Fred lobsters can be fished anywhere - as is true for all the lobsters and crabs.

It's just that streak prone random number generator that Draconi was looking to fix, before he left (and didn't have the chance to), that is causing your problem.

My week-long streak was Hummer Lobsters. Now, I'm getting Hummers, but need 30 spiney lobsters for 2 quests, after needed 30 for the previously turned in two, and I'm slow getting them.

Never thought of declining the quest. Will give it a try next time. BTW, I went from 30 fishing to 98.3 without a Fred. This has got to be a rng record. I usually have four traps out while casting over them.
