The way I look at it is that if you don't feel like doing it then don't. This is only a quest that is purely optional.
What a worthless remark to make. Yeah champ, Cal Crowner didn't come to my house and put a gun in my mouth and tell me to kill thousands of Meer or he'd blow my brains out. I guess as long as he doesn't do that, nothing is unreasonable, right?
I hope the next quest takes a million kills. Hey, after all, it's optional! NBG will probably do it in a week of grinding and then get offended when anyone implies there's anything wrong with his application of free time.
Also, what is your definition of a "normal human being". I would very much like to know.
Oh crap I feel a math attack coming on.
3 days = 4320 minutes
4320 minutes / 5000 Meer = 0.864 minutes per kill
0.864 minutes = 51.84 seconds
That means that in order to do two characters in three days you'd have to kill a Meer every 52 seconds basically.
"Pfft that's easy, Skrag! My awesome character takes a lot less time than that to kill a Meer!"
Yeah, but that 52 seconds assumes you don't eat, sleep, work, or go to the bathroom and includes all the time it takes to find your next target and kill it. If you "only" play 8 hours per day for those 3 days, you've got to do all of that every 17.28 seconds for every minute of every hour for all 8 hours.
Does this still sound like a normal human being to you?
Anyway, if you're somewhat less insane and only want to do it on one character, and you can drop 3 Meer per minute consistently then you're still looking at just under 14 hours of continuous killing.
But I don't think the spawn rate will even ALLOW you to sustain 3 kills per minute long-term. You'll end up clearing an area and having to run too far to find the next target. You certainly won't be able to sustain that pace if anyone else is there farming them.
It's a completely stupid requirement and the developers are wasting their time coding quests that only a few crazy people will ever do.
