Life on LA?

Hi folks, I recently re-activated my account (last night) but have yet to log in (I am awaiting a new laptop and getting everything set up for UO). I left right before Abyss came out and played from 1999 up until that point. The last 2-3 years of my playing time were spent on LA (with CD and Vamp). I feel completely lost coming back into UO but have wanted to get back into it for awhile now. Any advice as far as LA goes? How is the PvP/Spawn scene? Doom? Any hunts, etc? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Some shards are slower believe it or not. I normally refer to all 13 of us when I talk about LA but truth be told the population during "PvP time" rises to around 30-40 ppl afaik (counting Tram). I play most of the time now on Atl but the population there is not what it used to be either and with faction changes, virtue decay and a few other grind-ish 'stupid moves' (imo) they're losing even more players. I have read that the next pub will address the issues with decay if the current one hasn't done so already.

If ya want or have to buy something, you basically have 1 or 2 people who run vendor houses and the variety isn't that great although they do carry most of the basic stuff to play the game. Their service is greatly appreciated by those of us left on the shard btw. If ya need something, your best bet is to ask around 5-7pm cst in general chat, most people are willing to help and not charge a fortune in the process, if items can not be found on vendors.
